It must be because they look so much like the regular (common) Vette. Yes the new body style catches your eye for a few months, but then it is just another Vette. A car like the NSX catches the eye of most all other drivers on the road, and gets the thumbs up from people from all walks of life. A 15 year old Corvette just doesn't get that type of attention (unless you count the "guys who drive pickup trucks" demographic ::Horse::::Bum::) .
