Flyin Miata calls their clutch/flywheel combo the happy meal. If it is a happy meal, the clutch is the burger and frys and the flywheel is the toy and cookie. ;)Quote:

Hey Gary what is your recommendations for getting a Miata ready for a Track Dog Supercharger setup?? :burnrubr:
Most people do the flywheel while they are in there. At 200hp I really doubt you will be able to tell the difference. I like my flywheel, but it doesnt make the car feel fast. I like it because of the sharp heel toe down shifts it lets me pull off. If I had to do the clutch and had some extra cash I might do it again, otherwise if I was just doing the neccesary thing I would just do the clutch.
Is this a reference to WWLD? :DQuote:

My 2 cents: Definitely do the motor mounts. It will provide a better "base" for your blown motor, and it's (relatively) cheap to do. The ppf I can't speak to, but I think Gary is thinking of getting your car as rigid as possible before adding the power to it.
I think you should definitely consider doing the clutch if you're going with the MP62; your stock one will be over-taxed with 200+ HP. The flywheel is a take-it-or-leave-it thing; most people that DO add it do so because it makes sense to swap a flywheel when the clutch is being replaced. Personally, I'd spend the money elsewhere. (Gary can help you with that. :)
Speed (with the lowly M45)
I will agree that the motor mounts are a must, but the PPF.....well I don't have one, but that is your choice. I would opt for the clutch and flywheel first. I installed the clutch while I was still NA and really liked the feel over OEM. I would also do anything that will be harder to access once the blower is on. You will also want to make sure your brakes and suspension are up to the task. Honestly the list is endless....trust me on this.
and cooling....
He has no interest in track or autocross, so this would really be optional.Quote:

(You don't buy a more pwerful stereo without consideration to a speaker upgrade to handle it...)
Is a JR header necessary or just recommended and why?
My understanding is it's optional but would be a real PITA to install after the blower was in the car!Quote:

If you've got an itch to spend money, a header (just make sure it's one that a blower will fit over) is probably a good bet.
Thanks for all the information. BTW...From Gary:
"Hold off on any header for now until ours comes out. The JR is the only one
that fits currently, but there is not enough power gain to justify in my
eyes. See, one step closer toward your FI!
