Why won't Suzuki give us the Swift?

Of course, the Le Car was the predecessor to one of the greatest hot hatches of all time...

1988-1994. Nearly a Geo Metro clone, but with a 70hp four. Unless you got the GT (née GTi) with twin cams, 16 valves, and 100hp. Which made for big fun with only 1950lbs to pull around.

That is incorrect. The Aveo is a Daewoo Kalos. The Swift, as far as I know, shares nothing in common with either.

The old Swift was similar to the Geo Metro, but that's ancient history.

Does Suzuki sell anything from Japan here anymore? The new SUV is a GM based Rebaged Equinox and all of the Daewoo manepplates were just transfered onto the new Suzuki line. Not sure if the Vitara is still truly Suzuki.

The Grand Vitara is their own, the XL-7 is the chevy remake. There are more cars no the way from them to the US.
