Wow... this thread went down hill fast.
Prototypical threado dorifto...
it was planted somewhere...
A floor drain would be more environmentally friendly than a sloping floor, if you have public sewer. Oil spills and such being washed down the drive and into the nearest creek would not be good.
OTOH, if you plan to have tech days, I'd do a floor drain and a regular bathroom.
My suggestion is a 4th bay.
400 dollars for each extra 100sq feet of slab.....I think I am going to have to live with the 3 car extended depth garage. Lots of good ideas though.
Seriously, if I could design a garage from scratch I'd request enough "hidden" storage along one wall to store all of the unsightly garage detritus like the lawn mower, edger, wheelbarrow, shovels, bikes, etc. I envision a "fake wall" about 3 feet from the real wall with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors...
I'd also add a side access door from the garage to the yard for easy ingress/egress with the mower, etc. That way you can avoid using the garage door for everything and can keep dirt, clippings, isolated.
This is the best resource you'll find:

I meet with the builder tomorrow so I can get the garage measurements and start negotiating.....
no...the house plans are at the architect and we have certain points where we can input changes. The suggestions are going to be discussed with the builder and see if they are feasible within the budget.
Garage will be finished and 24 feet deep with insulated doors. Plenty of outlets in the ceiling and walls, 2-well deep sink and bathroom right inside the door leading into the house. Anymore changes and I would have to come up with more moolah and that's not going to happen.
What?! No stripper pole? Cheapskate!
