SON OF A BISCUIT!
I completely forgot the event is today :( I've been so busy working two jobs... I'm going batty here. I gotta work on my scheduling...
I'm going to wait for the ER event next weekend. Yes, you can still kick me :(
It was a good event today, even though I did not trophy. Things seem to have gone smoothly and I agree with Solo RX7's decision about four runs. Five would have been nice, but it was just too hot. I thought it was a fun course.
I asked Ratt-Finkel if he had anything to do with this, like the Bass Boat at Nationals, but he denied everything.

I agree it was a fun day, but way to hot!!!!
Um... I hope that guy did the Ferrari thing as a joke. I do know that one of our Supra guys did it with a 3rd gen and became a laughingstock :D

BTW in hindsight I'm glad I didn't go today... it was HOT. I'm afraid I'm going to screw up at Pennington again... I was lucky the first time :(
I had a great time driving but it was a little rough arriving at 7:00 am and getting my first run at about 1:00 in the afternoon. I was pretty much beat by the time I started driving and just wanted to get it over with. It was great meeting a bunch of the MME guys and I'm sure I'll be back. The guest I brought to ride along was pretty much disgusted by the entire experiance though. I ran with the BMW guys at the bus lot on Saturday and I must say that we got 4 runs in the morning and 4 in the afternoon on a much longer course (90 seconds average) in about the same length of time. If it was common to spend 6 hours waiting in the sun for a T time I would have given up golf a long time ago. One of the groups had worked their heat, driven their heat, loaded up and driven away before I got in my car to stage in the paddock. Maybe I should wait to pick a class until I see the heat board.:D Sorry about the rant but the whole experiance was soured for me.
PS Looks like Alan Wong won our class at BMW. Congrats Alan!
Might bit warm today and almost all the Miata classes got the late shift, but thankfully they do rotate around the classes so next event we may be first ones done.
I thought I had Mr. Baker today I had him on my 4th run with the fastest time but a ::ConeDOWN got me! :nutkick:
The course was actually pretty decent jrj512 may finally be figuring out how to design a decent course. ;)
Nice job by the fine folks with the SCCA today!
Wow that was fun! I love hot weather.
I think my brain was cooked on my 1st run; nearly wiped out the timing lights ::Yikes::. How many cones was that anyway? Unfortunately I only got marginally better after that.
I heard the announcer say 5 regular cones and 36 pointers, so it may be a new record. ::BaHump:: I had fun, and also had a huge spin on my first run, but I managed to pull some decent times on my true street tires. Fun day, it feels good to be autocrossing again.
Don't look now, but it's going to get hotter! Drink lots of fluids.
I had fun. I kept getting faster throughout the day, but not my best day driving. Maybe next Sunday I'll tell myself I'm out of town, I seem to do better at the away games. I don't remember ever doing really well at PMS, it's not my favorite venue.
Maybe I was just grumpy but I have never seen so many clueless people walking through grid completely unaware of the fact that they are in the way and obstructing cars. I was in one of the loudest cars there! It's not like you can't hear it coming! I didn't recognize any of these people so it must have just been coincidence.
Anyone else notice this or am I officially a mean old person now?
Good course yesterday. I hear Jarret put this one together. Good job. Actually had some nice sweeping turns for Pennington.
Agreed. That was a good solid course. I didn't even mind the downshift in the McDonalds corner. The course had a lot of unique subilties that provided a real challenge. And it was fast enough to get the juices going.
Other than the heat, I thought it was a great event.

So what's up with the 1960's Mustangs? Was it "Old Mustang Day"?
Very cool. I always loved those 1964, 65, 66 'Stangs!
I'd give 'um two-fiddy for either one, and start the modifications with some new shocks and springs to lower them
;)
What the heck am I sayin'... I don't even know what a spring is. ::Banana::
