Haha, the one you pitted on? I didn't get it.....::BaHump::

Plus you can't get too excited. A 150+ whp miata with more experience then me was faster then a 90 whp automatic civic on their 3rd event ever....but still. I need to get faster, and I should be at this event and the one this coming weekend. Just have to get used to the new suspension setup.

Sat, Dec 12th - Sun, Dec 13th
ECR Toy Run
Event Hours: 00:09:00 to 00:17:00
Come and join us for our 2nd ECR Toy Run. This years event will be open to cars and bikes. Cost is $50 per day. We would also like to ask that each participate bring 2 can goods which will be donated to several area food banks. Any new and unwrapped toys will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go to help many needy families. Last year we were able to put a smile on many young childrens faces Christmas morning and we are hoping to do the same this year. So come on out and join us! Tracking experience is a must. You can contact Maggie at 817-992-9774 or email at [email protected] to register.
I've emailed her and signed up for Sunday. I'll be bringing food and a toy on top of the $50 registration which they collect there the morning of the event.
I've signed up for Sunday.
EDIT. I'm in.
Signed up for Saturday and possibly sunday....if the car holds up.
I'd sign up but I haven't been out to a track event yet. In the info they say "Tracking experience is a must" so it looks I'm out unless begging them might help. :-) I'm guessing they won't have a shortage of experienced folks looking to signup though.
If I can get a kitchen pass to go out and watch for a while would anyone want a little extra ballast for a session? I'll try not to giggle too much :-)
They don't have instructors for this event so that's why it's not open to newbies. However, if you show up and ask, there may be an instructor available. Even if there isn't and they say no, you will still be able to get ride alongs. Bring your Snell 2000 helmet. If it's allowed, (depending what group I'm assigned), you're welcome to take some laps with me.
it's if you have track experiences your good, just have someone show you then line or figure it out, it's a very easy track. after 1 lap i had everything down but turn 4, it's just a very early turn in.
Sent an email to register for sunday!
I suggested that they remove the exp requirement and do something like a lead and follow. Maggie's reply:
Good idea! I will change the track experience on the website. I believe we
are going to get quite a few instructors to volunteer
So, looks like the bench warmers are in!!!
Just emailed maggie and she's gonna hold a spot for my Dad!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sent a request for Sunday
Signed up for Saturday, do they allow M2000 or must it be SA?
M2000 is ok.
Last question: Do I need a hard top? The BUR doesnt currently run a top of any sort so I'd like to know if that's gonna be an issue.
rcomps are fine. come dead them :)
I checked with Maggie, Miata with no rollbar is OK!
Dad isn't willing to come so going to bring a friend along. Hopefully he can run my car...
He'll be in the "baby" group and be just fine. I did fine in blue there.

Context fail...I have no problem with newbs per say. Well, unless its a vette or viper newb, then I'm afraid. I didn't mean that to come accross the way it did.
Open passing, gentleman's rules, Hallett "passing on the straights" rules, or pointed passes? I don't really care to go wheel-to-wheel in a car without a cage. I'm not trying to be an ass, I just don't want to end up in the middle of an American Iron race and soiling myself.
Point to pass on designated straights only. All run groups. Same as any other ECR track day.
ok, signing up for saturday...so I can fix whatever breaks on sunday.
