Love the new site! Our Lemons car was truly a piece of crap, but was still a blast to drive (in a twisted, almost comical sense).
I haven't had that much fun in something that ugly since college.
And no, I didn't own a car in college.
Great site!! Reminds me of Marana Regional Airport, the place the AZ Border Region plays at, just half the size. Thanks again Aaron for letting me codrive and to Nick in the FR-S for letting me ride shotgun for a run. I see that car being in my garage in the distant future....
Another great day thanks to the team at SCCA. Cool new venue. Well run and a great course (fast and challenging). 5 runs of fun. Good times, good times. Thanks again to everyone that bust their tails bringing us these events.
ps. thank you for the water Hal. Appreciate it.
Pics from today's SCCA event. It sometimes take a few hours before the link is active.

The new site is really excellent. I hope we will run many more events out there. The facility is terrific, the surface is in great shape and is very consistent. The grip was...odd. In the turns, it was grippy concrete, but in the fast offsets it felt a bit slippery, even though the tires would hang on at big slip angles. Not sure if it was just a little dusty or maybe had some residue in places from the drag race paddock that normally resides there. Still, it was a solid 60-sec course, and the site could easily accommodate longer courses for events with fewer drivers, or draw-up a super-fast, open 45-sec course. I never even noticed the light poles I know are there.
The fact that they were willing to open-up an excellent concession stand, and the good shade under the grandstands makes it even more attractive. Dallas Raceway is a great addition to the selection of sites, especially after the loss of PMS for most clubs and the shrinking of the Bus Lot. How cool is it to have yet another type of surface to run on?
I'm willing to drive 1.5 hrs again! Well worth the drive. Everything about the venue is great. STR is one competitive class! Hopefully NTAXS and BMW will run there or I'm going to have to join scca just to run there again! Great course and event, except for me getting dehydrated!
Nice site.
My fastest.

I think Jimmy Jan forgot to update his signature to 20 mph
I give the new site ::ConeUP::ConeUP.
Glad you liked the site. Not trying to threadjack or anything but ER will be there October 14th.Quote:

Once again, my 100 HP wonder beat a GT-R. Makes me feel kind of special. ;)
Nice venue!
But what was up with the 174 cone slalom near the end followed up with he gates of doom?? ::Drive2::

Nah, that is only reserved for M3 drivers

This was my face when I got to the 174 cone slalom as well!

Great new site!
I really liked the course, I even liked the 174 cone slalom. Any tighter and I would have not liked it. An autocross course should have a hard section. This course was all reward, no pain except the solemn.
It’s nice to have the pain section in the middle with a reward section at the end, so people come off the course happy, and they forget about the pain in the middle.
I really enjoyed running my crapcan on the new site. I think it will become the #1 site in DFW if treated right.
I'm thinkin this is the look of a guy who just came to the realization that he may soon become the tire warmer for his wife. Mrs. JimmyJan (and Mrs. SteveE) both laid down smokin final runs! Great job ladies :clap:
edit: or perhaps he just realized he did not get his free boul of soup when he bought the hat..
Here's my best run. Besides getting dehydrated, it was a fun day.

So many cars, so little time! It really can be fun driving a POS car (not your car Mick), where you really have to push it to even be marginally competitive. Kevin and I had more fun that anyone I think. Our expectaions were low as were our finishes in STS. We left with a :D though

Yep, skirted again this year. Sharon is really starting to get up on the wheel. Guess I should stop driving and start towing......

Pretty much sums it up there Steve!
I did want to say it was a fun event and worth the drive to compete against everyone on a great site! Just turn the heat down and open the slalom up!!! BTW, Stroh posted some of our runs at www.oversteergarage.com including my spin because the friend he is?!
turbotoddie
great to see our friends from CS and Austin join us (and put on a show). I am curious to see sound readings as we were trying a new muffler/exhaust combination.
Hi Stan. I just sent the scan of the sound logs over to Kenny to post on the website. He usually posts it pretty quickly, but if you want me to send the file over to you now pm me with your email address.

The best part of my video was when my car was at the start line behind TurboToddie. It sounded like I had a V8.
It sure did not go like a V8. Well done Todd. I don't know how you got your steam rollers through that slalom.
