Hey guys, it looks like my plans may be changing and I might be in town for this event after all! What are my odds of getting in? (I see the online registration is closed with 53 entrants.)
Not so sure on S2K, but you could always come out for the BMW event the day before (if you join the BMWCCA that is). I'll be there. Its a double-header for me that weekend.Quote:

I'll be at the race, but not the 'breakfast event.' Just can never get out of bed in time for that.Quote:

Let me know where I can meet you in the morning so we can ride together out to breakfast! Thanks!Quote:

Yuck. I'm so glad I live on the west side of town. I don't usually even get up until 6:30 on race days. :DQuote:

Ummm.... HELL, YEAH! Now THAT was an autocross. I'll admit to being somewhat elated at coming within a second of both leadfootjon and joe.Miata on a 90 second course.
It was definitely a Greg course... It rewarded patience, and rewarded it greatly. I was hugely surprised when on my first afternoon run, I blew a gate and finished the course in 3rd gear to conserve tire (and GAS!!!), but finished with a 97.1 - a time that a number of Miata and S2000 drivers worked hard to get.
The Holly's Miata Traveling Trophy was a toughy... Did we ever decide? I mean... On the one hand... 3bean lost numbers on course, left early, and came without his passenger seat... But... 17 runs at $50 a piece? Ouch... Hope collegeboy has a good, paying job this summer...
Believe me, if I could have stayed I would have!
I was having a blast and improving over all of my laps too boot! I'm actually kinda glad that my Azenis didn't make ti to my rims... I got to thrash and trash the Yokos one last time.
Hmm. $50 bucks per run
Thanks for pointing that out. It seems I am not the only one seeing outside edge wear on A3S04s. There is a thread on the poiny board right now.
I hear there is a very competitive mens quilting club, I may have to check it out. This hobby is getting expensive!
You could always come back to Tire class. Wait, what am I saying?!?!? Nevermind. $50 per run is cheap! :wink:Quote:

Quick question - was anyone else having cooling problems yesterday afternoon? Both leadfootjon and I did - his water temp spiked during the afternoon runs, and I had to turn on the heater for my last few runs to manage my temps.
Yep the POS was also having issues, but it never went past 3/4 on the gauge.... :cry:Quote:

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that the results are up at DLBRacing. :) Send me a PM with any scoring/classing issues.
I see that a few of the miata pilots beat all the S2K's except for (about) the top (3). Way to drive... :)Quote:

Losing to altiain by 3/1000ths of a second was unfortunate  , but the battle was fun. Truth be told, I'm just glad to have been so close. I'm sorry JRW couldn't keep rubber under his car, because I'm sure he would have been a real threat to altiain's victory (and my second place).
It was great to see those new faces out there -- nice to put a face to a [screen]name. Looking at the times, I think we Miata Pilots did a pretty good job!
Lastly, I also had "overheating" problems... and that concerns me, since it wasn't really all that hot. It was humid, so perhaps that added to the problem. But I think my car is due for a coolant flush.
Maybe it's time for a tech day for radiator flush & fills...
My 92 Black & Tan could use it. The temp gauge hit 3/4s after a spirited 90mph run down I35E and across 635 to Fry's in Irving.

I wish I hadn't :? I already felt bad about my performance before I saw how slowly I drove all day.Quote:

Thanks to S2K for another good course, and to GL for all the tractor work.
What are you yapping about? :roll:Quote:

Yea but no one can question your course working ability! I hear you can reset cones better than most! :lol:Quote:

I'd be in for that. The fluid in my overflow tank looks like sewage, and I can't remember the last time I changed it. That can't be good for the car. :scratch:Quote:

Of course, speeding from the course finish into the paddock was common.
Overall, the course layout was good and not' gimmicky.' But some high speed areas should have been better placed. It was a fun day but it was not without 'incidents.'
S2K is much better (extremely) about these basic rules. Had a great time and will attend all of them still to come. LSBMWCCA could learn a lot from S2K.
