Bring cold weather gear. It will be buttass cold in the am. Most of the area is dry, so bringing beverages is a must. Bring spare magnet material as well. You never know if and when you'll need it.Quote:

I think Jon and I will be bringing everything but the kitchen sink...
All the tools out of the trailer, camp chairs, spare wheels and tires, cold weather gear, rain gear, Camelbaks, a cooler so big it needs wheels (stocked with Shiner  ), spare magnet material, car wash stuff (figure no sense in washing it here and driving through 350 miles of bugs), lots of aspirin, gas can, compressor, and some other crap. The CR-V will probably look like a low-rider.
You decide when you're leaving yet, Sparky? I'm leaving work at noon Thursday, and we'll be leaving from my house in NRH some time around 3-4pm on Thursday afternoon.
Don't know about you guys but I have found the best way to go when leaving the TMS area of the metroplex, is to go to Denton and pick up 380 to Greenville... 183, I 35, and I 30 will be a zoo by that time in the afternoon...
I'm not going in to the office on Thursday, figure I'll make a run to Ark around 10am.Quote:

Good luck, and have a safe journey!::Flag::
Come back with some trophies boys!
Altiain, lugnutjon, POS racing and I have all arrived safely. Altiain, POS racing and I did the Cone Clinic. Money well spent, except for tire wear.
The other three will work first heat and run second. I will run first heat, first class, first car. I will have FTD at least until the second car finishes. The course looks like the Fort Myers course.
TCB is staying down the road a couple of blocks, in a motel that does not have internet for the guest. I have been elected reporter. I have some photos I will try to post, after I get them out of the camera.
Good to hear you guys got there safely. Be sure to pass on our good wishes!
I will pass on the wishes.
All my other shots are too big and I do not have my Photo Shop on the computer. Tomorrow I will take more photos this size.
What class does the Jet run in???
Course looks like fun to me.
"N" number must be Novice
That course looks like a blast!
After day 1, Altiain is in 7th with a 47.080 s., Lugnutjon is in 9th with a 47.309 s. and POS Racing is in 15th with a 48.530 s. in a 21 car field in C Stock.
ratt_finkel is in 2nd with a 47.636 s. and I am in 11th with a 50.260 s. in a 15 car field in G Stock.
Spinout500 (?) is in 1st in F Mod. and has FTD I think with a 43.xxx
Great job guys!! Keep it up
Thanks for the update! Great job guys!
Sweet! Show those bastards who's boss! ::Flag::
We all finished in the same places after today's runs, except rat_finkel, who slipped to 3rd. Altiain ,Rat_finkel and spinout500 trophied. I stayed for the trophy presentation. So, altiain I have your trophy. I'll bring it to the next event.
Congrats fellas!! Great jobs!

We had a blast. I ended up moving up one spot today to 6th, which was the final trophy spot in C Stock. Jon was about 2/10ths back from me (he was faster than me today by four hundredths, but I had a ~3/10ths lead on him from yesterday) in 8th (?). Disimo and Herron were flying - Disimo coned away the event on his first run yesterday, which would have given him over a second lead on the rest of the class. I thought my event was going to be a washout, as I DNF'ed my first run on Saturday (brain fart) and coned my second (pushing too hard). I slowed up a couple of tenths to get a clean run, and was eighteen thousandths out of the trophies at the end of the day. Today everything worked out pretty well, except for a gimme cone on my 2nd run. Apparently I brushed it just hard enough that it teetered for a second then fell over, according to Jon.
The surface was pretty wild. Very, very abrasive concrete, with more grip than any other surface I've ever run on. It took the cone clinic and a couple of practice runs on Friday to come to terms with how much grip we had. I bought a pic from Digital Race Photography on Saturday of my car in the offsets near the finish, and you can actually see that the inside front wheel is off the ground.
Mick did damn well for his first major National event. He was smooth and clean and had great lines all weekend. Now he just needs to get comfortable with pushing the car to find the limit on a new surface. Still, all in all I was very impressed with what I saw of his driving. I was also impressed with how well he could hold down Ann Hollis' super-potent "chunky" margarita!
Can't wait for Houston!:burnrubr:
Awsome. Good job guys! When are we gonna see that photo Altiain?
As soon as I scan it in. I bought the 8x10 but not the CD, since they wanted another $35(!!!) for the CD. I've got a 2600dpi color scanner here at the house, I'll make my own damn CD. :wink:Quote:

BARN DOORS RULE!!!!
Way to go David! Taking it to all of C-stock in your E-stock car! :burnrubr:
Nice job guys. And congrats on that trophy Altiain.
You're probably pretty excited about the results, 1-2 finish for the Elises in SS. I would have liked to see the results if Ian was there in the black GT3 though.Quote:

BTW miatamoto - C Stock ran in 2nd heat, E Stock ran in 4th iirc. They definitely benefitted from better course conditions on Saturday. Even so, Hedderick was flying this weekend!
Fire up the racing excuse generator! ;)Quote:

Yep, the Elise drivers had a good showing. 1st place was flying at 1.4 ahead of second, ouch. I think Houston will be interesting with several more good Z06 drivers in the mix.Quote:

We finally changed the rear bar settings and the car seemed to settle down, but too late for them to give it an honest effort. Wayne and I made our own adjustments before taking to the course in 4th heat and the car was considerably more controllable. However, after having to remove a front wheel during impound, we discovered the tire was toast, indeed all the way to the cords.... Wayne was in third and I was in fifth. Andy had run away and hidden from all of us, leading the class by .7.
2nd through 5th was seperated by only half second. With a tire change and a few more adjustments, Ben and Todd took the car out in first heat, with Ben scorching the STX competition by .3 on his first run. Todd also ran better, but both of them were too far behind (nearly two seconds) on Saturday to catch the STX leaders. During our runs in STS in fourth heat, Wayne put down a run that would have landed him in first, except for the cone that went with it. He backed it up on his final run, but was about .3 slower than his first run. He actually beat Andy's time on Sunday, but not enough to place better than third. I stayed in fifth...
Hey Cone-Cerned ya got any other pictures from the event that you would like to share with the rest of the class. ::Teacher:
Hey Altiain, who were the guys in the white trailer that you bought the picture from??
