Must be a small bass... none of mine would fit in the BUR's trunk. Well, perhaps the Fender.

Very nice and a good price! He's already purchased his new car so he's gotta get this one sold.
I replaced my miata with one of these a couple months ago to be a family truckster. Absolutely love it. Spectacular car.

I'd also look at the Accord.
I love my TSX. You should go try one. They are not the most powerful car on the road, but the power is very adequate and good MPG. The 4-banger gives it nice balance over a V6. I have a 6-speed, which I suggest. After that, and MS6 is a very attractive possibility.
Made a purchase decision last night. The car should be here in 10 days or so. Some of you will undoubtedly roll your eyes at this, but the winner was a Fiji Blue Civic Si.
Test drove the Civic, GTI, MS6, RX-8, and even a Scion TC. I decided the STI was just too expensive and the Mini is overpriced, IMHO, for what you're getting.
The Scion was out immediately. Nice car, and a deal at $17,000, but it is much more "competent" than "special."
The RX-8 is awesome, and was my second choice. You can get some amazing deals on them right now, and the ride/handling trade-off is perfect. But reliability still spooks me. Sorry, Iain, I understand why you're buying one but I couldn't jump on board that train.
The MS6 is a great car but it's just too big for me. The engine is epic -- it'll be a screamer in the MS3 -- and the whole car is very, very nice. But there's a reason dealers are offering $7,000 off, and that's because the car is something of an unknown from a reliability and resale standpoint. Basically, though, it was just too big.
The GTI is swell, too. Again, the experience is dominated by the engine. Well, that and the impossibly cool plaid seats. I wouldn't blame anyone for choosing one of these over the Si, but what's it going to be like 60k or 100k down the road?
The last stop of the night was the Honda store and I knew within the first 100 yards of the test drive that I was probably going to be buying the Civic. I know, a Civic. I've considered the status implications of driving one and how I'm going to explain it to my fellow lawyers but I ultimately decided that I just don't give a sh!t. A car has to hit you the right way for you to fall in love, and this one pushes all the right buttons. The engine is a work of art, the chassis is fabulous, and the interior fits like a glove. The price is right, and the reliability is not a concern.
If Mazda were selling MS3s right now it might have been a different result. I don't know and, frankly, don't care. If you haven't driven the new Si I suggest you do so before dismissing it. It's that good.

RICER!!! ;)
Seriously though, good to see you got the car you wanted. Enjoy it!
Moderators, move this to Honda-tech.
I like the new Civic SI's. Congrats!
I know where you can get a 5" exhaust pipe put on it. It should really open up the breathing on that engine. Most honda tuners are smarter than Japanese engineers.
LMAO! I won't be fiddling with it any time soon. The only change I'm likely to make is adding the Honda Factory Performance suspension because that doesn't mess up your warranty. Far as I can tell, these cars are pretty finely honed straight from the factory.
The hardest part of buying a Civic is FINDING one without navigation, without dealer-added accessories, and without mark-up.

Agreed... I hate the dealer added pinstriping!
Congrats on the Si! I like them too, but would wait for the sedan version for a test drive.
How does the GTI compares with the Si on the handling aspect? I rode in a GTI and found the ride quality to be quite good, but wonder whether it's a good trade off between ride/handling?
A Civic!?
Just kidding. The new Civic does indeed seem to be a pretty impressive car, and Honda does have a top notch record for reliability. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
