Don't forget your work assignement can be affected by where you end up in line for registration. ::GottaRun
ER has slightly tweaked the timing for this years events.Quote:

Yeah, really.
Just think about it - if you have no rollbar and you're strapped upright in the seat by a four point harness, what does the car land on if you flip it? The windshield header and your head. :punchout:
FYI, you won't be able to use those shoulder belts at any autocross or track day without a four point roll bar, for the reason stated above.
So, if my car rolls over, and I don't have a rollbar, the regular seatbelts are safer than a harness?
I'm not arguing about the rules, I know ya'll are right. I'm just failing to see all the logic behind it since the last ER autox I was at they let me run with the top down and no rollbar. So it'd seem like I'd land on my head either way if I flipped it with stock seatbelts or the harness.
When you roll, you will usually fall inward toward the center of the car. If not before your head hits the pavement, soon after. If both shoulders are strapped back, you stay pinned upright as your head grinds off like a pencil eraser held against a belt sander. ;)

Mmmmmm.... Cheese....
I prefer Nips... erh, I mean Cheese Nips.
I like em both.
Honestly, if you're going to drive all the way out to Mineral Wells you might as well just enter the event. Watching an autocross is like going to a strip club, all the excitement, and none of the action.
Also, what way are you guys taking to get there? It's never taken me anymore than 1.5 hours to get there.
Two short cuts are this.
From the Northern 35 area
Take 121 west from 35, follow 121 till you hit 183, follow that towards fortworh, make a LEFT at 820, which you'll still technicall be on 121. Follow 121 towards downtown ftw. It forks 3 ways, I-10 towards the right, 121 in the middle, and 820 on the left. Obviously stay in the middle. Take that all the way to downtown forworth and jump on 35W heading south. Follow that for about half a mile to I-30 West, and take that all the way to exit 416. Or the D.P.S. Road, which ever you prefer, I'm not sure which is faster. I've tried both and it ends up about the same.
Or you can take george bush(161) to 183 and then take that to ftw.
Both ways shave off a lot of time. Plus you can usually haul ass. Unless you're living in McKinney it shoud take you no less than 1.5 hours. And if you live out in North Plano or McKinney, move out of the sticks!
I may drive out there and see you guys, on my bike :(
The band is disolving in a couple of months but we are honoring our last shows then I am free on the weekends again just in time for some Autocross.
I am really looking forward to it.
I have to replace my stinkin belts though and couple other minor maint. things but other than that it should sound waaayyy different than last time you guys heard it....lol
Man what a fun event with a great course! The weather also settled down nicely for Sunday!
The fine folks at ER once again put on a great event! ::Flag::
It was good seeing you ::Clown::s out in Mineral Wells afer our winter break, even you Altiain! ;)
Meh. :?
The course was fun, but we were fighting a lack of grip all day long. I think the ~100-run Kumhos from last August finally gave up the ghost. Jon cleaned house in B Stock today, outrunning every other Stock class car out there except for Clovis's Elise. You know you're running in a tough class when you're 11th in the overall PAX... but that's only good enough for fourth in your class!
In fact, all five of the drivers in B Stock finished in the top 15 in PAX yesterday. Maybe I should have stayed in C Stock. :punchout:
Man the weather was soo nice, I walked away with a good ol' fashioned sunburn.
Mark kicked my ass in CSP! But then again I think I ended up second with some skinny 480 treadwear tires, haha.
My best run was a PAX one that I did screwing around with my headlights popped up, and thats the one my friend happened to record...
I liked the track and I liked that ER stuck to the schedule in the morning. I also liked that it was my first class win! ::Flag:: ::Banana::
However, the wheels on this Miata (pics) were a little tough to stomach. We might need an intervention.
(Is that The ChadVIII in the background of the first pic?)
I almost had fun, also.::Clown:: The course was great, except for all those damn turns.
Maybe I should have stayed in GS. The OMS (::OldMan:: Stock) is going to be fun this year. The youngest driver in yesterday's ES class is 60 years old. And, two of the three drivers are fast.:D
Ahaha, yea thats me pretending I have bad eyesight with my bag-of-beef-jerky lunch. Too bad that spinner-miata never did some runs!
Paging gerry93miata to the intervention room. Get those *#$*#$( spinnahs off the Miata. Oh well. At least he got rid of the automatic, right?
Yea! I didn't know there was a tire class, and thats what John Garcia had told me in the beginning. (the yellow F1-lookin' racecar)
So I ran and asked if they could change my class after my first run, and they said I could, but I don't know if they did or not.
If they didn't then there were only 4 people running CSP so I still wound up in 2nd over a Civic Si and a Cobalt, whee!
Looked like fun to me, I will try and make the next one...in the Miata;)
At the event I was informed that you wanted to move from CSP to TCSP. I was going to do that at the end of the event, even made a note on the audit sheet, but I then forgot. I remembered it this morning and sent an email to Dennis, who is doing the final audit, about the note and change.
I do not know if Gerry saw it when he did his audit at the end of the event and before trophies, so he might have changed it.
The question now is, which class do you want to be in? What class do you see running the rest of the year? Points accummulated in one class cannot be transferred to another for Year End Points. There are usually more entrants in tire class, thus more and tighter competition.
Just let me know.

Seems like the PAX sure changed since the awards were given out. But I might be wrong.
Yea they got the 88cs car mixed up with the 88bs car, figured it out after trophies, and I gave Gerry the 3rd place PAX ::2Dollar: back, I'd rather earn it then get because of a technical error. ;)
But I'll take the 16th place finish in PAX and the Class win; not a bad day. ::Banana::
10th pays $15, right? I want my extra $5! ::Bleh::
If only I could've counted my PAX runs in the tire class runs. I got a second and a half faster! (slow learner) Maybe next time I'll do my PAX runs first.
I'll give Cody some credit - he definitely drove well on Sunday. At the same time, he was also on brand new A6s (the rest of us were on Nationals leftovers from last season) and there were a few spots on course where having some torque to dig out of the hole was useful.
I expect you'll see a different picture once the rest of B Stock bites the bullet and buys new tires this season.
