Once we finish drooling, we'll head up to Muenster for a German lunch (otherwise, it just wouldn't be Octoberfest, now would it?) and an exploration of some more Texas countryside.

Mark your calendars and let us know if you plan to attend. A head count will be REQUIRED for lunch since the preferred restaurants have limited seating.

Actually, I was going to suggest a couple of things -- all of which I'm sure tailchaser has already thought about. First, while tailchaser's original post gives us a general idea of what the "event" will be, how about a little more detail... something like:
- - Meet at blah, blah, office at Valley View and Luna at 9:30am, and head to the Shelby Thingy.
  - Look around there until approximately _______ am/pm, and head to Muenster.
  - In Muenster, have lunch at _______ restaurant, where reservations will be made for _______am/pm.
  - After lunch, have some fun driving around Muenster.
  - Head back south and arrive back where we started at about ______pm.
We don't need event maps or complete details yet (tailchaser does a fantastic job with this when you meet in the morning of the event), but I'd like a general idea of the plan. I also need to have a reasonably good idea of how many hours we'll be away, so the babysitter knows how much money I'm gonna have to pay her. :shock:

Second, I was going to suggest that all us South Oklahoma folks (otherwise known as Frisco/Allen/McKinney/North Plano :lol: ) meet somewhere and "caravan" down to the general meeting spot. We could meet somewhere for breakfast -- say, McDonalds at 121 and Preston at 8:15am? -- and then head to tailchaser's office at 35/635 together. It will take us about 25 minutes to drive to Luna and Valley View, which means leaving McDonalds at 9:00am to get to the Group Meeting Spot (GMS) by 9:30am.

Anyway, it looks like this could be a huge event, with 14 Miatas and 8 or more S2000s 8) ....

Yeah - me. I've responded in this thread and the one on the S2k board. Dunno if the wife will be making it or not, and likely won't know until the day of, so put me down for two and I"ll just sit on two chairs at the restaurant if she doesn't come. :wink:

Who knows? Maybe I'll even have a radio again by then. :bash:

You should have saved the money for the carwash and used it for lunch! :P

Good luck finding a McD's in Muenster, Texas! We are running up and back on the back roads, not a lot of dining selections at your disposal!

Also make sure you start the day with a full tank of gas! 8)

The "1750" isn't very visible. However...

We are meeting BEHIND the westernmost GREEN ROOFED building on Valley View Ln. Can't miss it. I swear.

If you're coming from just about anywhere, the easiest thing to do is take the Luna exit from 635 (that's the first exit west of 635 and the first exit east of 161/190). Head north on Luna and turn right (east) on Valley View. Then take the first right and head for the western parking lot BEHIND the building.

If anyone gets lost, is late, etc. please call my cell - 214-912-9261 - and I'll help you find your way either to my office or to the car show.

Looks like near-perfect weather for tomorrow (don't forget your sunscreen!).

For any North Dallas / South Oklahoma :wink: residents:

My wife (Susan) and I are going to have breakfast the McDonalds at 121 and Preston before heading to Tailchaser's office for Saturday's Oktoberfest Run. We will get to McDonalds sometime between 8:15am and 8:30am, and plan to leave a little before 9:00am to make it to the meeting point (1750 Valley View) by 9:30am.

Anyone that would like to join us for breakfast is more than welcome! There's no need to reply to this post, as I probably won't be checking the forum between now and tomorrow morning... but I hope to see you there!

OK...

I'll have 4 FRS radios... 2 are fancy with lots of channels, 2 are cheapy with 2 channels... I have 'em set on Channel 8.

So if we stick with Channel 8 on the FRS radios then I have enough radios for 4 cars... (1 for me, 1 for the Mrs, and 2 other cars...)
