If Gustav hits LA or TX, its likely that I will not be able to attend this year. If anyone wants to get in, and its too late, let me know and we may be able to work something out on my admissions stuff. I'd like to recoup some of the cash of course. Damn hurricane season.
Can I use your car too?
Guess you're gonna have to come play down at Harris Hill when you get the chance.
Chris
there are a lot of people on this board who run them. I know where you're coming from, but I've had enough track time that I don't have to go out and buy a set of $300 street tires to replace my set at the wear markers just to run one track day. It's a simple concept.
Not sure what street tires you are running the tread off of in one track day, I have run Kumho MX's, Azenis, and now RE-01Rs. I have R Comps but Im not winning a HPDE. With each set of street tires I have run 3-6 track days each year and run the tires for 11-12 months of street during before, during, and after.
You running cheapo's or sandpaper tracks? For reference I have run each version of VIR (North, South, Full, Grand, Grand North and South) Rockingham speedway, and Carolina Motorsports Park.
The argument that your tires are being eaten in one track day is not backed up by my usage data. The only issue I ever had was in 107 degree air temperature running VIR full and 11 month old MX's. At the end of the 6th session they were lacking in grip and the tread was blistered, but I still drove on them for another month to use them up on the street. Even in advanced classes I and most others are running street tires.
here we go again.
lets try to keep the thread on topic.
Has anyone received their "registration Packet" yet?
