be careful on the turtle slalom.

OK. We'll leave when everyone gets there but can I have a confirmed head count of who we are expecting? So far Nails and Carazie are the only one's confirmed.
Count me and Torque Wrench (Paul) as definite maybes. I plan to head up early for Friday track time, IF I can get everything done in time. Will let you know by tomorrow night one way or the other.
Gotta get the HP+s installed and bedded tonight, flush the brakes, give the car a bath, cram 5 days worth of work into the remaining day and a half, take the kiddo to a meeting for one of her activities, etc.
Wouldn't be Hallett if I weren't trying to cram too much into the days right before, though. See you all Friday, early or not. :burnrubr:
PSA for all the Hallett newbies. Here's some stuff I'd encourage you to bring along:
1. Water. You'll want some between sessions. Trust me!
2. Long pants and long-sleeve t-shirt. Required.
3. Narrow driving shoes.
4. Magnetic numbers, or some tape to design numbers.
5. Spare brake pads and fluid, if possible.
6. A big bag (plastic is OK) to store all of the stuff you will take out of your Miata before hitting the track. Prior to leaving Dallas, take out all non-essential items.
7. Sunscreen.
8. Tire pressure gauge, and portable inflator if you have one.
9. A couple of towels.
10. Folding chair, if you have one.
Don't have the packet handy, but I've never seen an event organizer supply numbers...
Look on page 3
I'll bring something in case this is wrong.
cArAzzIE's right, the paperwork does say they're providing vinyl for everyone - cool. Painter's tape is a great way to make numbers in a pinch - I made a set of TCB magnetics from some return air register covers I picked up at Lowe's.
Also, don't sweat the inflator if you don't have one. There's air available at the track - the line does get long sometimes, though.
Speed's list is a good one, though - take heed if this is your first visit!

Don't try this shortcut. It goes through a lot of small towns and takes longer and more gas!
I think Gary's been up there enough times to know the best route.
If I lived off the I35 side of town I would go that route. I am changing the route for a more ugly Hwy route by going up straight up I75 toward McAlester and then getting on the Tollway. Then continue North to Hwy 16 going West to Bristow. This will be a good gas fill area. From there it is back to the old route going North on Hwy 48 to Hwy 51 going West and then Hwy 99 going North to Hallett. It's an ugly drive but might knock of 30 minutes. On your trip back I suggest the Hwy 48 all the way, much better drive.
William, don't forget to bring cash this time for the tollway!
Gary
How much cash for the tollway (if we're going that way...)?
Bring $4 in quarters (it's only one exit, IIRC.)
I think $1 per pass, but we'll go through it a couple of times...
Cool... I'll grab a roll of quarters.
