Wish I could have made it, ended up waking up early to go to the doctor. I think the sinus infection + heat would have ended poorly.

A great event despite the heat. I think everyone who drove the divisional was still interested to see the course again with warmer temperatures because the div was so abnormally cold. The event staff was great for having so much water available. Here was my 50.6... I sure do love not changing gear...
That was one of the funnest courses I've run. I'm really enjoying the BMW courses that I've been too over some of the tighter ones I've been on.
For a third the cost ;)

It was my Day Two course from the SCCA Divisional. Since so many BMW attendees do not attend SCCA events, I wanted to give everyone a chance to try it. I really liked it. Plus, it was easy to setup since it was still painted. Whoever took the job of course setup for this event got one of the easiest jobs ever! ;) Glad they have not started tearing up the lot, yet.
Now that I am past my SCCA Div conflicts with BMW events, I can resume my course setup duties at BMW events.
Some of the marks were very light or gone so we guessed. How do the time look compared to the Div?
Times were similar but a little faster. The course drove exactly the same. The only difference was that the divisional was much colder so the tires did not get as much heat so the cornering speeds were a little lower. In my case I know this happened because going back and watching the footage in the places where I shifted into 3rd, the main straight and the back offset, speeds were just a touch faster (1-2 mph). While the places where I hit the limiter, the corner leading onto the main straight, and following the main straight, I was just bouncing off the limiter even longer.
At the div I did not feel like I was loosing to much time for the limiter bounce, but this weekend it was obvious I was loosing a ton. If I was better at the 3-2 downshift then I would have gone into third in those places to get that extra speed.
Just looked at it again, the back section was a little different but really very similar. My div day two time was a 51.57 while this weekend I did a 50.6
I guess I did better this weekend. Had a 51.349 on day 2 of the div, but got down to 49.4xx yesterday.
Iain did have a 50.5xx on his final day 2 run, but it was dirty, so I'd say the course was about a second faster in the BMW configuration with the less-severe offset gates on the backstretch.
