Great course, Kenny. I enjoyed it.

It was nice to make the news, but that's the last anyone will see of me in Keith's car. A weld Keith made on an engine mount broke on my final run. Keith got to worrying that his work could somehow injure me and in order to avoid that risk he's decided he won't put anyone but himself in that car.

Wow, that's the most convoluted excuse for "you beat me so I won't let you drive it again" I've ever heard. Got to give Keith props for creativity, I guess. :wink:

So watcha going to drive this year instead?

Nah. I like having a co-driver. Nothing encourages you to try harder than getting beat in your own car.

Funny thing - I was talking with Jon and Andrew Hahn during the 2nd heat, and we were talking about target times for the course. Jon and I agreed that a low 50-second time would probably be about as fast as B Stock could expect. Andrew said he was shooting for 49.9xx, and I laughed and replied that I didn't think our cars could get into the 49s.

On his first PAX run, Jeremy laid down a 49.7 and proved me wrong. I came back and ran a 49.9 and a 49.8, which I probably wouldn't have done if I wasn't being pushed by my co-driver.

Keith isn't like that. It was a difficult decision but he had strong reasons after some hard thinking. If I were to somehow get hurt in a car he built he feels he'd have way too much personal liability. He wanted the competition, that's the reason he invited me to come on board in the first place. We're both disappointed but we're both past it.

As for what I'll drive now, I don't know. Those F1 teams refuse to return my calls.

If that's how he really feels, is it safe to run at all? What about possibly hurting a course worker?

Yep, I agree it was super fun course. But I'm starting to second guess going fast. It is a Lotus afterall, and I'm almost certain something will break eventually....again. :cat:
