I are dumb. ;) Thanks :)
I still haz a fuel rail leak and my thread sealant didn't arrive today. Looks like I'm working on the car in the wee-hours of the night next week.
where has jeff_man been? is he going to this event at msr-c?
he's got himself a scat cat? what a puss (no pun intended) well, we can't all be superstars. lol
I have a job for him as a urinal in my scat dungeon. I'm full of coffee and asparagus.
Anybody know of anywhere cheap/free to stay out there friday night?
There's a motel 6 in Benbrook I've stayed at. I know some have stayed in Granbury too.
I think The Lodge in Granbury is the cheapest.
MaxQ Data is on the lam!!!! Well, not answering phone or email so it looks like I won't have lap-times for the event this weekend. :(
just so you guys know. if you stay at the new best western across the street from the track, ask for the nasa tx. racing track discount. it's $20 cheaper.
$10 spectator admission if anyone's planning on going to watch.
Wow, I've never paid to spectate at MSR.
Registered and in. Never done a NASA event before - Can I tech the car myself or do I need to have my shop here tech it?
Lots of fun, perfect weather, good company and good times. No spectator $10 fee (although it was on the paperwork?). Got there at the crack of dawn Saturday, and they were sold out of transponders (note to self, get ther on Friday to tech, etc..). Thanks to S2B for setting up the Miata Challenge and for loaning me the transponder (even though it crapped out LOL). Big thanks to ZX-Tex for loaning me his GPS/Bluetoot/Ipod thingy so I could get a decent lap recorded (1:27.3). Not sure if it was my best, but it will have to do...
Nice seeing the gang, and putting faces/cars to handles. Some very fast company and I need to step up alot. My plan worked on the last session, gridded up front behind Colin-MX5 (first out, NB w/FastForward supercharger) and The Geezer (very fast NC). Following them to try and learn helped lots. Here's a vid of the last session: Colin goes off at around 4:11 and Geezer gets by. Colin quickly recovers and the fun begins on the next turn... http://vimeo.com/10160118
Looking forward to the next TXMC date. Good times, good times.

thanks for coming out SixAce. it was nice meeting you, good looking car and good driving out there!
first off, i would like to thank everyone for coming out and participating. some of you guys drove pretty far to join us, and even those that live nearby took time out of your busy lives to help develop our cars and driving while having a blast doing it. those of you that didn't make it missed out on a great time. anyway's i better get to it before i fall asleep.

Congrats to the division winners! Really smoking time there Geezer! Hard to believe that was your first time at Cresson. 1-2-3 in unlimited were very close.
Mod was closer than it looks. In every session Tanner beat my best from the previous session and we were both still cutting a second off each time out.

I had brake failure again but I plan on not giving up until I run 1:24's out there. Its going to be a long road.
Should be doable.
I thought for sure we'd see more guys from the Track Dog Racing Saturday lunch crowd. Was Wags the lone representative? Where were Gary, William, Michael (Michael was there, as a spectator), Skirt, Bacon (I don't know if he's still in that crew), etc.?
I think there were a lot more out-of-towners than locals. Wassup wit dat?
Bacon moved to the land of Fruits and Nuts, and last time I saw Gary he was in a cast. William and I took our daughters out for the day together while our wives were enjoying a day off. Skirt had twins a few years back and I am sure that has cut in to his track time.
and i had pnemonia as well as a car that didn't have an ECU. (BTW: the ECU is back in the car now)
registration is now open for round 3 @ texas world speedway. i'll make a new thread for it.
Well, here's what you missed:
TxMC Round Two Best Video Ever
Nice video. I like the music.
Why is my car smoking between shifts? Lack of a cat converter?
2 things could be happening, did you touch the rev limiter? even just 1 blip of the limiter will throw a big puff of smoke.
or, maybe it's just a little unburned fuel from when you let off the gas during the shift.
ha, you should see the smoke I get when I let off since I installed the surge tank.
The typical list for smoke on decel/shift is:
- PCV system
- blown rings
- valve seals
- excess fuel
Cool video. It's been too long since I've run MSR. Summer of 07' I believe. :-(

Gentlemen,
Thought I'd give everyone the heads up - my MX5 is for sale. I'll do a full ad in the next few days, but I'm looking for 20K complete (including 17x9 wheels/Hoosiers).
