Miata goes to Allen, you go in the Miata. Ken's in Allen. Our Ken.
It might be worth having someone from one of the autocross groups go and make a presentation to them now. It couldn't hurt to explain to them that they could expect to be able to rent the lot out X times a year for $$$$ a day if they spent LESS money by creating a parking lot void of landscape islands.
It seems like I am always hearing about schools not having enough money, then I see them spending $59.6 million for a football stadium.::Rant::
Of course I am fine with it if they let us autocross on the lot, but that will never happen.
The lot on the far side seems to not have green spots. Maybe it would be big enough. I'm sure the green spots are to make the city happy with their effort to protect the atmosphere.
I like trees at autocross venues. They make an excellent spot for the safety nazis to sit.
The linked article mentioned Mesquite Memorial stadium. I wasn't familiar with it, so I looked it up on Google maps. Looks like it is at least the same size as Pennington - has anyone ever approached Mequite ISD about staging autocrosses at this location?
Here's a nice site that we played on up north with plenty of trees and curbs:

The tree @ the first left turn took out a Mustang later that day. No, this wasn't an SCCA event.
That is one f'ed up autocross site. I guess we forget how good we have it here in DFW.
I liked this team name. I thought it probably fit many of us...

SCCA approached Mesquite ISD and they said no. The lot is also on a pretty steep slope.
