You can also just tell me why. ;)
You only get the scare factor when mr. Brg tells you. Lol...........or maybe even nails
They're referring to this. The steering wheel slipped in mr brgs new gloves almost putting green on grey and vice versa.

Oh wow! I've never had any issues with gloves like that.
Hince the reason they are telling you not to wear gloves. Unless you want to have to being a change of pants with you so you can clean up after it happens to you.;)

br, toy run is not a hped, they stick all the first timers at ecr in the group that you would call beginner if it was a hped. really they just put everyone in a pill the split the pile. for a ref they put gery in the "slow group" because he had never been to ecr.
hoping they changed it this year and devide groups better. don't care about slow cars or who is better. last year it took 1/2 the season to clear the traffic as people even in the "fast group" forgot the point by so it turned into open passing
Last time I went they had a clear novice group and then experienced.
I'm in! I just remembered to check their website on Monday. Should've checked here first.
This has all the markings of a huge fustercluck. 40 cars on track in each session, with a wide variety of HP and driver skills...
Or, this has the makings of large charitable donation for kids and families at Xmas and a good event to hangout with other car nuts :)
No. Just the ones you sign up for...;)
Last year they did lead follow with instructors to help maintain spacing, speed, and skill level. If you have the experience on the track I am sure they will place you in a group where you can run flat out.
In DFW you could track almost every weekend. If you seek open track and small groups Apex Academy is perfect for this. Instructors and plenty of space. Apex is one of the few organizations that keep the groups small to maximize your on track experience.
all registered, see you guys for breakfast
Last year I think I did 6 sessions and could've done 2 more if I wanted. Plenty of track time and not too much traffic. Unless they have a ton more people it should be fine.
How many people were there last year? As far as I know right now, there are 80+ people signed up.
I think if everyone remains cool and realizes that this is just a charitable driving event, we should be ok.
Don't forget as well that cars and motorcycles were running on the same days last year. This year, there will be no motorcycles sessions on the day alotted for cars.
That's true. I remember when I went that motorcycles took up a good portion of the time.
Sent an email regarding attending the event but have yet to hear back. I also asked for a current count of attendees. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.
Its best to call Maggie from the phone number given on the website.
Maggie finally got back to me. I'll be there. Also:

So far we are at 126 signups. We are going to cap it at 150.
150 drivers, 30 drivers per group, 5 run groups, 25 minutes sessions, 3 sessions for the day per group is my guess. Should not be bad unless ego puts himself in a higher run group.
I just talked to Maggie. She said they have not yet decided on how they are going to set up the run groups. There will be the usual novice, intermediate and advanced groups. If you have not been to the track before you will be in the novice group for obvious reasons. They may wait until 12-4 to set the run groups until they see who actually shows up. Remember, it is a charity event!
I'm sure if you are in the higher groups (intermediate or advanced) you can run flat out no problem, but I bet with the novice group the main focus will be safety. The only problem is there won't be nearly enough instructors to ride in every car going out there. I could technically run advanced since I have 2 track days and an autocross under my belt but I'd rather run novice without an instructor.
I was joking ;-)

I missed the reference, sorry haha. Will you be out there?
I knew somebody would jump all over that comment...:)
I'll be your Huckleberry
12-pages...um...how many run groups? If there's 4 I'll go but it looks like it will be a cluster. I want to be sure I can run flat out, preferably flat out enough to get my throttle to stick open on the back-stretch.
Remember this is a charity event. Go out, have fun and a good attitude and leave the competitive attitude at home for once. Don't expect this to be a full on HPDE. I'm going since I've never driven ECR and to help some kids have a good Christmas. If you want to test your limits save it for a true track day.
That's my ::2Cents::
