Get an M3, any douche can drive those fast.

My thoughts from the weekend:
- Crusher was awesome/you really can run 1:25s with 160whp (I managed a 1:27.3 after about 5 laps)
- I feel validated as a driver for the first time after this weekend, I just needed some polishing that 949 helped with.
- Clear aero with a splitter and wing does not make the car "wacky-grippy", it makes it faster and easier to drive. I could add these two things and cut some real times
- NA is best and definitely the most fun I've had on the track in the last 6-years.
- Instructors and people in the know generally don't teach how to enter a corner with testosterone.
- Wear safety-goggles when working under a car at all times.
Now you two kiss. :)
Another fun weekend at Hallett, but I'm glad to be home. Whew...
Already looking forward to next year!
Next year?
What a great time. The weather did not dampen anyone's spirt. I am so glad that there will be an 11th Miata's at Hallett. I improved my driving skills while spending time with friends. Can't get much better than that.
^ got a video??
I had a great time at my first MAH. I will go next year. It was fun meeting everyone. That is one fun track. And it's exactly like it is in rFactor!
My thoughts from the weekend:
1, ALL autocrossers should be banned from Hallett.
2. Transponders SUCK
3. Watch out for DEER at night in rural OK. Gabkwong and I hit a deer on the way back to the Budget Z in Cleveland. Thanks to Gakwong's cat-like reflexes it was just a side swipe. The deer knocked the drivers side mirror back and we had deer snot on the rear quarter panel (the mirror hit the deer's head). It could have been really bad.
Ok, my thoughts from the weekend:
1 Have the EGR thing on your header welded before putting the header in the car. Do not cap it. The cap will fall off.
2 It kinda fun to remove the super charger and header, with help from friends, to get the EGR thing on the header welded closed. And get it all back together fast enough to not miss a session.
3 Wags will scare you going into T1 but there is no need to be scared.
4 I would have been "Weekend Over" twice if Gary hadn't bailed me out with extra parts.
5 It's fun to watch the extreme emotional swings Trey goes through from session to session.
I'm jealous, looks like everybody had a great time. The car wasn't ready in time. Hope to have it aligned and out to MSR this Sat.
I'm happy to hear there will be another MAH next year. I'll do my best to make it.
BTW, it's about time Trey figured out N/A is the way to go. ;)
I, too, had a great time. I lowered my best time by about three seconds, 1:41.665 sec. down to 1:38.725 sec.
It was a little unnerving for me to be doing 1:39-1:40's with the windshield wipers on. It was misting just enough to need the wipers, but not enough to really wet the track.
I put in 55 laps on Friday and 38 laps on Saturday, giving me a total of about 165 miles on the track. Good times, good times.
Thanks to all who helped put Miatas@Hallett on.
I will make sure I take my vacation next year for this! 2
Great weekend (even though I didn't sign up to drive). Thanks to those who let me sit in the passenger seat for a session. Must say I'm quite impressed with the NCs...
As a bonus, my better half got down into the 1:36 range. I'm quite sure that's FTD for the Ladies division...
Shanna did some great driving/avoiding. It was a great weekend and excellent to hang out with all of you guys. Dad made it back to NM even with the fuel pump issues. He just had to stay out of boost, but could still hold 75-80 without issue. Thanks for all the offers on ways to get him back home. My car did great, never got hot, and drove me to work this morning.
We really need to support Connie's efforts to keep this going next year by checking Hallett's website and registering early so she doesn't have to open it up to other cars.
Who has video or picture of Green Glory shooting fire? My bumper needs help, lol. I'm going to jam a little pipe in it with a nut and bolt to dump the exhaust another 3-6 inches back, lol. I think Nails had cool video too, I'd love to see it.
mr brg & wag: Glad to hear that your efforts were rewarded.
How did Gary's yellow rotrex car turn out?
I'm really having a tough time adjusting after last weekend. People are making me do work on things other than cars, my daily is really slow, and people look at me funny when I put the white Miata on slip angle. However my diet is better and I'm drinking substantially less.
My only off, or spin, for the weekend. It was on my 24th lap Friday morning, Gary ahead of me and Trey behind. I'm working on a longer video and will post it later.

Wow, I never noticed that cloud before. Look at how far the ass was out:

That could have been really nasty. I couldn't tell which way the car was going to go, so I chose the track since its easier to change direction on pavement than grass.
I love the script "The Green Glory Hole".
Here's the 3 laps before my off. gabkwong is in this one briefly. I'm trying to keep up with trackdog. mrbrg is a dot exiting turn one while I brake for two on the last lap and passes me as I glide across the grass. Wish I stayed on longer to get mrbrg overtaking trackdog.
Again the embed window doesn't respond to the ok button. Is this a firefox thing?
