If you're worried about cones, a fresh coat of wax in the danger areas makes them easy to remove. They're rarely permament unless you slide sideways into one at 70...Quote:

Ask me how I know. :burnrubr:
If you (apex2apex) hit 70 mph at Pennington, I'll wax them out for you! :razz:Quote:

A cooler with enough water and Gatoraide for all the Miata drivers... :punchout:Quote:

Looks like this will be the first really HOT event of the season. You newbies need to be sure to bring plenty of water!
Yep, probably the hottest day of the year so far...Hope y'all have a blast. Really, truly, I hate to miss it....Pardon me while I go cut grass and do yard work most of the day today.... :drink:
ewwww, 97 degrees is the high. That doesnt sound like fun at all. :flower: We have had some great weather the whole year though. But hell its still just may, give us one more mid 70s and partly cloudy event.
I have decided to bring my automatic Civic for my first event. I will see you guys in the morning!
She would have loved it.Quote:

Whew... the heat apparently kept a bunch of people away. We were done with trophies and on the way home by about 2:45pm.
Congrats to mark52 for winning CSP and for being the fastest Miata of the day. Congrats to miatamoto for his 2nd place finish in E Stock. Congrats to Kestrel for a hard fought victory in C Stock - winning the class by four thousandths of a second. I managed to beat lugnutjon for 2nd place, but I still haven't won an event this season.
Better yet, kestrel beat me by three thousandths in the RapidePAX as well. :banghead: Unfortunately, neither of us were in the money - 16th for Kestrel and 17th for me. I think we got slaughtered by the Mod cars today (there were eight drivers just in F Mod! ). So much for cleaning up at Pennington.
Even though we finished early, it was a long, hot day. The heat index was over 100 degrees, and it felt like it all day long.
That was a good event to get finished early. Fun event though. CSP was fun today, even though Mark did beat me by .040 seconds it was alot of fun to have us running near the same times. It has either been one of us on good tires and the other bad all season long. Congrats Mark. Congrats Kestrel for a win in CS too! Also congratulations to the Tire guys. TC was second and Sammm was third if I am not mistaken. Maybe Sammm is finally starting to digest the info Altiain gave him a few events ago.... :flower:Quote:

Yes, it was some good, hot fun today! Looks like Majik and I are running pretty much neck and neck, although on the faster courses he has the advantage over me. At least we can keep that pesky yellow Datsun Roadster at bay  Congrats to all you other weiners, I mean winners!
Maybe just maybe its the gokart tires you have eh? True that we atleast kept the Datsun behind us(and beat CS).Quote:

Very nice job today by miatamoto for putting his ES Miata in the trophies. :salut:
Oh, forgot to mention - I got the prize for the highest cone count today, with a +10 on run #2. Nothing like crossing the finish line backwards.

I'm real happy with the way the car performed, especially for the first outing on R-comps with the Miata. Hopefully I'll be able to make full use of the Hoosiers and put the Miatas back on top in ES, pesky Fiero.
It was an amazing event. We started early, we had very few interruptions in the action, and we ended early -- which was particularly nice since it was so hot! I didn't drink enough water, and paid dearly for that stupidity during my pax runs and when loading my car. :shaking:
It was a surprisingly fun and fast course. Very simple layout, but quite a lot of fun to drive hard. But what got us off on the right foot was:
Those three things allowed ER to start the Drivers Meeting 10 minutes early, and get the first cars (junior karts, actually) off on -- or even a little before -- time! :thumrigh: Of course, the "computer gods" blessed us with fairly trouble free operation, and we had a lower-than-usual turnout (about 85 drivers... ER usually has a little over 100 drivers).
- The course "setter-uppers" got the course up very early/quickly.
- Registration went very smoothly.
- Initial data entry (loading everyone's names and car numbers into the computer) was completed early.
One thing I'd like to applaud is the fact that we ran all the Junior Karts first thing, they took all their runs, and they were done. I believe this saved a ton of time, and it had to be be better for the kids (to run early in their full race suits). The trailer team had to only worry about the kids (and their lousy numbering :| ) once, and this challenge wasn't split between two trailer teams. I'm definitely going to strongly suggest to the ER Board Members that we continue this practice from now on!
OK, as for the competition, most of it's been said already -- but I'll just add two quick things:
1) It's nice to see you CSP boyz finally beating us CStockers.
2) altiain and I continue our "winner by thousandths" battle. altiain and I have been in numerous battles that have been decided by thousandths of a second, but I'm usually the one coming up short. I like this side of the battle better...
Great event, even if it was an ungodly hot one!
