Actually, we could help. I try to find time to walk the perimeter in each heat, but I think I'm the only one.Quote:

Still not sure why so many of you think corner workers were the cause of the long event last Sunday, IMHO the course was the key problem.
It was a fun course but it was scheduled on the wrong event, since it was know in advance that Dr. Bob was bringing 40 of his closest SAE buddies.
I don't. But the quality of Corner Work can always be improved. Last Sunday. The Sunday before that. Three years ago on a windy Sunday at Mineral Wells as Ms. Burns came flying down the back stretch only to stop dead because I had missed a down cone...Quote:

S.
Don't get me wrong I did really enjoy the course, and with fewer participant I'm sure would could have gotten at least 4 runs on it!Quote:

You are correct, Sir! Tommy will be suitably pummeled at the board meeting for this, but I am looking for any and all improvements we can make. If there is a concern about corner working, are there things we can do to address the issues?Quote:

The other position I am contemplating implementing is "Time Keeper/Expediter" to try to get us to stay on schedule in the morning. How many times have we actually kept to the published schedule from the webpage
"All times are Approximate
Registration &
Tech 7:30AM-8:30AM
Novice Walk-Thru 8:40AM
MANDATORY
Drivers Meeting 9:00AM
First Heat Cars
to Grid 9:15AM "
If we can get first car out 45 minutes earlier, that gives us that much more time for additional runs. So don't lollygag :-)
As to stopping by the board here, I tend to lurk a bit, but since I don't run with ER or S2k (and don't own a miata for that matter) I only tend to comment on the SCCA stuff that I am involved in.

John
Personally, I would have preferred a course with more than ONE right turn. I felt like some nascar guy out there turning left all day.
Hey - I had the tire stagger setup properly. You should have had an easy time turning left :roll:Quote:

For now I'll just stick with my Z28 convertible. (Try to think of it as a Miata with a thyroid problem :D )

Sounds like someone needs to testdrive a Miata that has had a foamectimy.Quote:

I could have spaced the starts longer, but it would have been dark by the time the 4th Heat ended if I did. Live and learn.
I don't, I was just pointing out something that can make an SCCA event run longer than most S2k events.Quote:

During our driver meetings, I mention that it is in the workers' best interests to be on top of the cone situation. The better they work cones, the less re-runs there are, and the faster they can come out of the sun. I don't know if it makes it through to anybody, but that's what I say.
