Or throw rocks at them.
Or throw rocks at them.
I think my new reason for running ER is to see stonings!
The consensus of the BOD was that you can hit all the cones you are willing to pay for, so long as safety is not compromised for course workers or other drivers. Recklessness won't be tolerated, but killing a poorly placed slalom cone is perfectly fine. Have fun and donate to Guns and Hoses!
So you are saying that I can mow down the entire slalom.
I was sort of OK with buying back 1 cone, but any more and it’s just a bad idea. It will encourage bad sportsmanship and hard feeling between class drivers and course workers that have to put the course back together after I straight line the slalom.
I may have to skip this event.
Mesquite
Bad sportsmanship is not encouraged or tolerated. If someone straight lines the slalom then they will not be allowed to buy back the cones. This is not a license to knock over cones.
That’s good, but I seem to be getting different interpretations of the rule from OZMDD saying we can hit all the cones we want.
I am OK with your interpretation of the rule.
You can buy back cones you hit unintentionally but you cannot intentionally make the course shorter, or intentionally take out key cones.
I can see taking out all the cones we want getting out of hand quickly.
Did I miss the course map somewhere in the 4 pages of hitting cones?
If Greg is doing the course, don't expect a map. He likes to wing it, when it comes to course design. Expect a good course.
At $5 each I doubt people will intentionally hit cones.
I would agree if it was $50/cone.
If you read carefully, you will find the words "safety" and "recklessness" in my explanation. There is not a cone limit, because we are encouraging people to donate as much $$ as possible to the charity. Sorry for the confusion. The President and/or safety steward will determine a reckless or unsportsmanlike run, DSQ it, and there are no appeals.
I hope this clarifies the issue. (edited for safety)
I am still confused. Can I straight line the slalom if I do it safely at a high rate of speed?
edit
Sorry to be difficult, I just want it to be clear what’s acceptable and what’s not. Right now we are getting 2 versions of that.
Where are you getting two versions? If safe and reasonable are unclear, then maybe just drive it normally.
Since we cannot read people's minds, nor do we want to try to be the judge of people's honesty, it is ultimately up to Andy, who is quoted above. There really shouldn't be a problem with this. We all know you aren't going to straight-line cones at speed in your CR anyway, so why all the hubbub? If you have to ask whether something is "ok", it probably isn't.Quote:

This does not apply to Rapid Pax runs.
Come on gentlemen, this is for a charity. Lighten up and enjoy the break. Have some fun, mirth and merriment!
If someone in tire class pays for a cone then they are not eligible to win cash. The cash payout will be paid to the next finishing position that did not buy a cone.
