Well, we'll see. He also owns a 500hp corvette. :burnrubr:

I guess I don't get the picture??
How does the fact he has a Vette change the outcome of a Team Miata vs. Team Honda, MX-5 vs. Civic Si, Texas vs. Mississippi, good vs. bad, blah blah blah??
Am I missing something here???
I take it you are the one from Mississippi??
Nah, he knows he's got too much power and not enough grip. He's told me before that he thinks the Civic might be faster 0-60 because the vette just can't hook up. Sounds great, brings the rumble to the jungle. But he probably wouldn't race you. I'm looking forward to the day he puts R Comp tires on there and takes it out to ECR. That will be fun to watch.
I think he's coming out to JJ's tonight. If you are there, you can ask him about it.

I autocrossed my '07 Si a few times before I got my NA. The Si doesn't even come close, it's just too heavy.
Hmmm, well that's disappointing. I knew it was heavier, but I expected the extra hp to make this a pretty even match. The 0-60 times and quarter mile times are really close with the Si slightly faster on both. I get that in the corners the lighter car would have an advantage. But the Si is only a few hundred pounds heavier than the NC. And I'm a hundred pounds heavier driver than he is. Thought it would even out on the track.
Oh, and the '12 Si has a 2.4L engine.

Well I felt like the power of the Si was a bit wasted in autocross, It would understeer like you wouldn't believe coming out of hairpins. Of course this was on all season tires, but still. The miata just hooks up and goes. I think the miata is much easier for a new driver, because it has a more reasonable amount of power.
That car was fun though. I had it tuned and what not, revved to 8600rpm and made close to 240 N/A hp at the crank. Fantastic (2.0L) engine.
1,000,000,000. I have LC2 which was created/approved for warranty after the LC1 fiasco/class action lawsuit. Now you can launch it to your hearts content...or until you get tired of digging your eyeballs out from the back of your head.
