I need some r-compounds
When I was at Hallett there was this orange 70's model 911 on hoosiers. It was a beast (with a good driver). Don't count out the older 911's!
Driver > car
Passing more powerful cars is part of the fun of tracking a Miata. :)
+1
I just watched ben's video.
3 things to note: auto sucks, open diff sucks, radar detector fail.
All in all nice driving.
That Volvo 1800 is kick ass! How did the Panawhatever Porsche Pig do on the track? NC's with hardtop look so sweet!
Glad you all had a fun safe time!
So was Jon Etkins flying in his new yellow NC? He's usually REALLY fast.
Yes he was fast but Chris in the red NC was catching him. I don't know if Jon has done any mods to his 09 yet.
I saw someone do a pull off......hahaha
my street tires don't have any uneven ware but it is about time to get my car realigned. after looking at all 4 wheels this one was waring a lot worse then the other 3
Losing brakes around the 22 second mark:

i was in chris s.'s car for that battle, jon drove that nc2 like a bat outa hell!!! but never the less chriss. is one solid driver, learned alot from your ride chris...thanks again!!!!
NP, thanks for taking lap times during your ride!
Here's part of the session where I gave Jackie a ride. http://www.vimeo.com/7675088
 lol...love the song being played for the video
Thanks, glad you liked it, since I have a very limited # of songs to choose from. I'm using MSFT Movie Maker, and MSFT refuses to acknowledge the popularity of .ac3 (or .aac?) files which comprise the vast majority of my music library.
Here's the one where you rode shotgun - the chase w/ Jon starts around 10 minutes, and lasts through the end. What a coincidence that the memory or battery ran out just as I got the point by from Jon!

Nice videos!
Ben, glad your brake fail was at 4 and not 5 or 10. You need to take my car for some laps at the next track day. Then you'll finish converting your car with Miata parts. ;)
Chris, loved the music with the videos. Very fast, smooth driving but a question about your line. Is that your usual line or were you taking a more conservative line either due to passengers or trying to preserve tire wear? It looked like you weren't quite to the edges of the track.
I got to figure out how to upload the little bit of video I have. My camera quit early in session 2 and 3. I got some of 4 but didn't set it up for session 1. I got the last session at Hallett too.
Michael, using more of the track is one of my improvement opportunities, as I tend to be conservative there...but I've never gone off track or spun on the track, and I hope to keep that record intact. :)
I also sometimes take different lines when I'm behind slower traffic, since I don't need as much track and also try to be noticeable in their mirrors.
if your not mowing the infield your not doing it right

on the plus side now that i have my suspension set properly i didn't get side wise at all and had no signs of the car fighting me in the turns. cleanest track day i have ever had.
That's cool Chris. I wouldn't want to spin and possibly mess up such a nice new car either. But I was just wondering why your line was different then what I was shown by Richard and James. As for slow traffic, I tend to still stay on line for reinforcement and I think the crossing back and forth tends to attract their attention better than staying static behind them on their slower line. In any case you were much faster and smoother than I was. My heel/toe is where I need lots of improvement. That and poor throttle modulation is why I tend to spin occasionally.
PS. Nice job Jeffman. First clean track day you had in awhile! Still wish you had video of my spin and wave though.
