It's looking good:
http://www.accuweather.com/us/ok/jen...cast-month.asp
It should be cooler than last year so we can really punish tires for a change. The last time I went it was 97* and the track was greasy with 210*f tire temps.
God that looks nice!
92 degrees? That's cool around these parts.
I paid and emailed the forms a couple weeks ago and never heard form them. I than emailed them a couple times and still have not received confirmation. I again send my forms via slow mail last week. I'm still waiting for reply. Anyone know how to contact them to get the confirmation?
The RS3 is not rain friendly! :-(

I don't play around with snail-mail. Pay with paypal so you have an immediate lock-in date, then if you don't have a scanner you can email your stuff to me and I'll do it for you.
Gabriel,
I have sent three emails about Hallett since the the 17th of August. If you didn't receive these, contact me at [email protected]
Lewis,
I tried your email account as above 3 times both from my email accounts at work and home just now. They all bounced back, not able to deliver with message about something wrong with you email!
Long story short, I am OK to go for both Fri and Sat?!
Thanks,
Gab
Gab/Lewis,
I have Lewis' email as [email protected]. That might help clear things up... ;)
Gabriel,
I send another email to you today. I may be getting hung up in your interet server as spam.
If you do not receive the email. Check your spam.
Lewis
Lewis,
I don't know what to say. I do not receive anything, including spam, from you. Do you receive anything from me at this address, [email protected]? Anyway, I used slow mail to send you the actual paper forms last week. Hope you get them. If not, give me your fax and I fax it to you.
We have received your registration form and payment for Miatas@Hallett, but with the exception of the pre-event inspection form, we still need the rest of your forms for the event. This includes the Driver Release Form, the Helmet Form and the Medical Form. Since we are having some sort of problem with you receiving my emails, if you don't have the rest of the forms, then download them from arkansasmiata.com like you did before. If you have questions, please feel free to call me at 501-666-5649 home or 501-993-7591.

I have been having a hard time with all of my emails getting through to Participants for Miatas@Hallett, so I am posting the letter. Sorry for the lenght, but it least it will get to everyonr in the Dallas area and beyond.
Dear Miatas@Hallett Participant,
The Arkansas Miata Club welcomes you to the Ninth Annual Miatas@Hallett Performance Driving Academy! This year we have a full two days of track activities at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. Our club is very excited about the expansion of Miatas@ Hallett and we hope that you as a participant share in that enthusiasm.
On Friday morning, September 16th the track will open at 7 AM. We will begin registration and clean tech at 7:30 AM. Registration will occur on the first floor of the Timing and Scoring Tower along the front straight. Clean tech will be along the inside of the fence on the false grid. You will need to both register and go through clean tech before 9 AM.
At 9 AM we will have a mandatory drivers meeting on the second floor of the Timing and Scoring Tower. We have several drivers, who have a lot of track experience, but have never driven at Hallett. For safety reasons, we will have a short on-track orientation for these drivers immediately after the drivers meeting. After this session, the track will be open for all drivers until noon. Between noon and 1 PM the track will be closed. From 1 PM - 5 PM the track will be open.
Registration for participants driving only on Saturday, September 17th, will be held at the Sand Springs Hampton Inn between 4 PM and 6 PM in the ballroom. We will also have door prize drawings during this registration period for all drivers. If you drive on Friday, please plan on going by the Motel registration and draw for a door prize. If you cannot register on Friday evening, we will continue registration at the track beginning at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning.
At 6 PM Friday, pizza and cold drinks will be served to first time drivers and instructors in the ballroom. This will be followed by a mandatory meeting for first time drivers, also in the ballroom. This informative instructional session will go through basic skills needed for driving on a race track. Emphasis will be placed on both safety and improving driving skills.
On Saturday morning the track will be opened at 6 AM. Every driver must attend a drivers meeting at 7 AM on the second floor of timing and scoring Tower. This meeting will conclude about 7:30 AM. First time drivers will stay after the meeting for further instructions for the day ahead.
All Drivers who are only driving on Saturday will need to go through clean tech Saturday morning. This will occur before the first session for each run group, so line up early, so you won’t miss any time on the track. If you went through clean tech on Friday you do not go through this process again.
We will begin run groups at 8 AM on Saturday. This year we will only have four run groups because of lower participant numbers. Groups will be numbered 1-4. You will have a schedule of the run groups in your packet. We will try to do our best to group people in appropriate run groups. If after the first session you feel like you need to be in a faster run group, please see either Kristin Treager, who is in charge of the track, or JR Mills.
Between noon and 1 PM we will take a break. About 12:20 we will all line up on the false grid for our traditional group photo. Please be on the false grid on time, if you can. From 1-5 we will continue with run groups.
Beginning at 7:30 PM on Saturday, we will have our banquet dinner at the Hampton Inn ballroom. The Rib Crib is again catering the meal. We will have everything you need except adult beverages. It will be up to you to bring your own, if you want to imbibe. We will have several prizes drawing that you don’t want to miss, as well as a few gag gifts. We promise that we will not keep you past 9 PM this year.

Lee
Gabriel,
I wanted to let you know that you have completed registration. Please bring your pre-event inspection form to the track on Friday.
Lewis
Good afternoon,
I just talked to Connie Stephens. The track will be open from 6-8 on Thursday, if you want to take your car or trailer to the track. You can also get set up early. Just an option. Also, We still have some raceports available.
Connie has listed the raceports that have been rented and who rented them. She has then listed the raceports available.

Lewis, How full are you? Are you guys gonna do well enough to justify M@H 10? I hope so. This is one of the top things I look forward to and don't miss every year.
Since I'm a noob to Miatas@Hallett I have a question. The following rule is in the registration packet...
"Appropriate clothing is required while on the track. Long sleeve shirts and long pants are required, preferably cotton. Shoes should be comfortable rubber smooth soled such as tennis shoes or boat shoes. No sandals will be allowed."
The only long sleeve shirts I own are dress shirts so I guess I need to pick something up to meet the requirement. What do all the cool kids wear? Also, the curious side of me wonders what the reasoning is for the requirement (not to argue or start a discussion, just curious...) ?
Lone sleeve t-shirt is ok. They do have some from the sponsor and at the track.
I tried to get raceport 17 but somebody beat me to it. So I got garage B. If anyone wants to share it with me let me know. $37.50
Cotton clothes so they don't melt to you in event of a fire. Shoes in lieu of sandals so your feet don't burn in a way that prevents you from getting out of a burning car. Long sleeve cotton tshirt and jeans along with rubber soled shoes with a leather upper and you're good to go.
All it will provide is a few seconds, but that's really all that's needed to determine a good or bad outcome.
Chris
Like Gab said, LS t-shirts are usually available at registration or at the track. $20-25 iirc. Go to wallyworld for cheap alternatives..sometimes at registration they have leftovers from years past at a discount.
As for the reason, I'm guessing it's some kind of insurance requirement for the track. Most all DE have the long pamts/sleeve requirements. I like to think of it as a redneck firesuit.
the long sleeve shirt is a Hallett requirement, not the Ar Miata Club's, and of course we have to follow their rules, and it is a reasonable one. I have worn an older white cotton dress shirt, and times by itself and also open, on top of a short sleeve T-shirt. Then I just take the long sleeve shirt off when I finish the session. No problem. I think any cotton long sleeve shirt will do.
Accuweather looks pretty food. There is a chance of t-storms on Friday rather than rain all day. I'll take that with the 75* high temp. ;)
You clowns have fun!
Sadly, I won't be there this year. At least my car will be...
Yeah, be safe, have fun, and hug a curve for me. Shanna driving your car Speed?
Mine was at least on the street everyday last week.
Dinner at Amici's in Sand Springs... hit the spot after a standing around most of the day in the cold rain.

Fun day in the rain. Party time now.
Sleep time
That was fun.
