How can someone so smart, have to be told things over and over again.

I was an Optician, and I have enough self respect to not attack people to better myself on a public forum and belittle a person for becoming disabled.
I’ve told you, not that I need to explain it, that I have paid my taxes in but would give up my monthly check to put things right. I am not for paying no taxes, but there has to be a stopping point…..we are taxed on everything several times we pay tax on tax.

Even though you think it will never happen to you, Karma is a bitch, you should really think about how you treat people.

I don't really give a shit one way or another that you're disabled. What I have trouble understanding is how you reconcile your neo-anarchist worldview with the fact that a large portion of your personal income is derived from the taxes that other people pay.

In other words, "ain't it funny that the guy bitching the loudest about paying taxes makes a living off of the taxes that I pay?"

People keep coming back to "what if I forget my card?"

What happens now? You get a ticket, get it dismissed in court, pay the $80 court fee and hopefully become less forgetful in the future.

I've forgotten. I've been cited.

And when I parked illegally, I've had my car towed. Retrieved it the same night. Cost me about $300 by the time I was done.

Frankly, I think it's worth it. If I forget to keep up with my documents, I'll take the cost of a tow knowing that all the uninsured trash on the streets is getting their comeuppance for not being insured.

This is the very last thing I am going to say and the only reason I am even saying it is because you are still attacking me.
I am not an anarchist. I am a constitutionalist.
It's obvious our views are very different but instead of talking it out like gentlemen you feel the need to make personal attacks.
It's obvious that you respect only things that pertain to you, whereas I am even having this conversation because i respect the situations of others.
We all know it's careless to drive without insurance, even the people who are doing it...wheather it be from ill intent or need.
Our opinion was asked and I added mine to the hat.

Maybe we need to start a new poll on people who think they pay too much in taxes...............
Also does anyone here think the State can actually maintain a current and correct database for insured drivers?.......and how much is that going to cost us................? more taxes anyone?

Bottom line: It's the drivers responsibility to have all the proper documents in your car. Don't have them, then you pay with your time, money and inconvenience. I too may get caught w/o the proper papers, and get my car towed. But, I think that is far better than allowing all the non-insured motorist running around.

BTW, as a Pilot part of the checklist before each and EVERY flight was to verify all your documents are in the plane. Same should be true with driving. If we allow all the excuses for not having the documents, then we should change the name of LAWs to SUGGESTIONS.

Taxes have already been devoted to it...it's already in a trial phase. Whether or not they can keep it current is yet to be seen. But if someone hands a fake insurance card to a cop - you can pretty much guarantee it's not going to be in the system. If I have legitimate proof - and it gets run through the system...I still have legitimate proof. I've been with my insurance agent for so long now I don't see how I would have any worries.

I agree with the pilot - if you're going to drive there are just certain things that you are responsible for and you KNOW you have to have it before you start rolling.
