[QUOTE=turbotoddie;268163]Yep Toddboy I've been put in my place. She's had me on my back since we got home..... pulling the transmission and fixing the washer...... ::whip:: it does sound like a wet towel when you get hit with it...

The NSTR 7 car (red Miata) had sound at 106+. Almost everyone was covering their ears when that car ran.
If you are on this board we would like you to come back to the events but your car is TOO loud. It might sound
good inside the car but outside the car it does not sound cool at all.
Does the NSTR 7 car belong to someone on this forum??
You guys think it was just dumping out of the header to be that loud?? Although I do see what appears to be a tailpipe on the car.

I spoke to the driver several times about sound level. He said he has a single glass pack on it, but is considering adding another muffler.
Thank you, mysterious STR # 7 driver for diverting attention away from the 17/317 car!
It’s good that we cut him a little slack at his first event, but we need to enforce the WORKING muffler rule, even at sites without sound limits. We all know it was too loud, so was the silver CRX. Give them a warning at one event, but if they come back without fixing the problem, don’t let them make any more runs after the first one. Even at this site we have houses not very far away. I am sure they could hear the Miata.
If we are unable to make judgment calls on where the line on sound is, then we need sound limits at all events. I would rather make judgment calls but I understand how hard that can be.
Yea what was up with those jerks in that 17/317 car! ::Rant::

We couldn't afford a muffler
the SCCA Board needs to enforce something sound-wise
that car was awful
don't care if a newbie or someone's friend or who, when the course workers cover their ears when they see the car coming, it's got to be banned immediately
not user friendly ? don't care when something is that loud and obnoxious
It's not his first event, but might have been in that particular car. He's just a high school kid that works at Pep Boys. They are supposedly sponsoring his car. I know and introduced him to autox last year. I will make sure that his sponsor provides him with some mufflers, lol.
Thanks to those who let me ride along at this event. I was able to make it out around 10am and watched/rode for a couple hours. Seeing how good the people in the miatas did makes me even more excited about the TMS event and the Equipe event the following week.
yooz peeps are awesome!
BTW guys, did anyone's sound readings seem a little high compared to other events attended. We have never been louder than 97db's and we were told we blew 104db's Sunday. As well nothing has changed and Flowmaster's don't get louder over time so I am going to attribute the increase to the wind blowing? or the grandstand echoing?
