We were definitely higher than normal as well.

My readings were almost 8-10 dB higher than at any National event I've run with the same setup, including the Colorado Tour, with cooler temps and much lower humidity. I am of the opinion that the sound readings were "more strict" than what the SCCA will ever demand at one of their big events. Still, it is very important to avoid the public perception that autox is loud. I feel the #7 car should not have been permitted to take more than 2 runs, and only that if something had been done to mitigate the sound after the first run. It wasn't even a close call.
