I tried to buy a new base model Civic that a dealer had on the lot in '97. It had rolled off the truck a few hours earlier and still had the plastic on the hood, etc. I told them that if they could have it ready for me to drive off within 3 hours, I would buy it right now. They told me "no can do... but lets write up the paperwork now and you can pick it up tomorrow". I said nope... not paying for a car I can't drive off the lot. They let me walk. They were pretty pissed the next day when they called to tell me the car was ready and I told them I had just purchased a Certified pre-owned Civic EX from on of their competitors.Quote:
