How many "guilty parties" were notified? My 54-year-old rock-n-roll-damaged eardrums were pummeled by a few cars (notably, a not-ASP-class-legal-yet-ASP-classed S2K). His "exhaust" was facing the inside of the course, yet the echo off the metal building was causing dogs to bark and children to cry all across Mesquite.
A) We are not the classing police. It is the competitors responsibility to be legal for the class. If you have issue then you should talk to them. If they won't voluntarily change classes then there are provisions for protest. Anybody can protest anything. It doesn't have to be a car in your class.
B) We followed our procedure for sound as listed in the rules.
Protest at a regional event? NEVAH!!! It was no biggie to me...I was going to kindly mention it to them before the event started but they were having troubles with a lot of white smoke and rough running, so I blew it off.
Yeah, that was the meth/water line popping loose and spraying all over the exhaust/turbo. I didn't think they were really much of a threat to a prepped ASP car.
