No, but I am planning on doing the NASA event March 15/16 at MSR.
I'll be doing many apex events this year.
My goal for 2008 is to get my race license through NASA, though, so I might be doing more NASA events.
If I am reading correctly its $155 for a one day HPDE at NASA?
Do they rent helmets?
Don't mean to drift. But, for the grass hopper, can one of you explain the difference of NASA events and Apex etc.?
From http://www.nasatx.com/Timetrials.asp:
"NO ROLLBAR OR CAGE REQUIRED. JUST YOUR M95 or HIGHER HELMET"
"Requirements: Advanced HPDE, Regular Autocross Experience, Instructors, or Race Licensed Drivers only."
Hmmmm.
anyone know how many and how long we get per session for the NASA events?
My car may run by then. Am I HPDE 3 material?
You can get m2000 helmets for like $200 now.
No HPDE 3 for Mr BRG in that case...
my .02
NASA runs several wheel to wheel racing series and also HPDE
the events I have been to were OK (schedule, how friendly, etc) but because they have so many run groups, you typically get 4 twenty minute track sessions per day
Apex is only for fun and to teach you how to drive better
Apex (with the new 3 group format) give you a couple of more track sessions per day, and limit the number of cars on track during a session to a max of 16
and John Holmes (the co-owner) is nuts on being safe and following the passing rules
