Being young is about taking risks. Besides who wants to live forever just to pay bills and taxes.
It's better than Iraq.
For me, it'd have to pay A LOT!!!!!!
I'm sure the pay is awesome...there's a very good reason for that.
Its more when you consider that they won't be paying taxes on that income and they have room and board paid for. Is that the case or am I wrong?
That's not enough. She can make more teaching school in the metromess. I make more than that w/out a masters.
I say, NO DEAL!
Not near enough money! Going to Kuwait to visit your kids and grandkids is not my idea of a vacation. If this happened to me, my wife would have me looking for a job in that desert hell hole so she could be close to the grandkids. Good luck with this one.
I wouldn't go to the middle east for 100k.
I had an offer to move to the UAE when I graduated... but it was for over $150k/year tax free, plus paid housing and a car allowance. If I had been 25 and single I would have gone for it. Being 32 and married, I opted to stay in the states.
For $30k a year? Fuggedaboudit!
Don't they live out there with you? Springtown is always hiring, but it doesn't pay as well. Keller ISD pays well, Ft. Worth is very large but could be good. I work for Lewisville and I really like it. Another good one is SouthLake isd. My advice would be to go one of the job fairs this summer or just flood every district with applications. With a masters she'll get hooked up. Let me know what she teaches and I'll see what I can do with LISD.
General, which district is starting at $46k? Unfortunately, different districts have different starting pay rates.
My wife used to work for Northwest ISD (Roanoke, Justin. etc.) and loved it. It's a very forward-thinking district, and the pay is very good. Unfortunately, my wife took a pretty sizeable pay cut to move to Garland ISD when we moved last year. :(

Ataim...show this to those crazy kids!
Time for me to change districts so I can be a new hire again. Wow!
