I think I may finally try to figure out where this Einstein's place is... As soon as I figure out how to class my car.
SM2 Tire?
How about helping a newbie, and letting me in on where Einstein's is?
I'll be there, I'm having autocross withdrawl issues.
I don't forsee me being in a Lotus for a while, probably going to sell the RX-8 and just sit and wait until I find one that I like in my price range. I wouldn't mind just driving the miata for another 6 months, heck I drive it 90% of the time anyways right now.
Besides, it only works for Miata in a box not Lotus in a box
Meh - Pennington. :(
Y'all have fun. J Fo and I are sitting this one out.
Now I know why J Fo tried to enter BSL at the last Divisional.
::BaHump::
;)
Sorry, I couldn't resist!!!! LOL!
Ok, so there's J Fo and I Pee, so together would they will be known as Jerin or would it be Iaremy?
Not quite as catchy as Benifer or Brangelina or Tomkat, but this is local autocross after all, not Hollywood. :D
Now, if Jeremy's last name had been Poley instead of Foley, it would have been a Hall of Fame moment in nicknamedom. ;) Announcer "And now in B-Stock, the 2 driver team of J Po And I Pee, we expect some serious, high speed movements with this duo!"
"I Pee"
This thread is classic! ::Banana::
Last night was beautiful out, so I thought we'd take the Miata to Jamba Juice in Sundance Square, but my battery was dead. Turn the key and nothing.
I borrowed my neighbor's battery charger and I am charging the battery. It was not yet fully charged, but I tried it anyway and it gave a clicking noise, which is more than it did before the charger. It is on the charger now and it will hopefully be finished later this evening.
We are going to drive out to Ponder for steaks this evening, so if it is still dead when I get back, I might take the battery up to Auto Zone to see if it needs replacement.
Assuming that it is not the battery or I cannot get it worked out, I might need to get a co-drive from someone in Tire class tomorrow. If I arrive at Einstein's in the Acura, expect be to be groveling everyone in Tire.
I'll offer an E stock ride if you need it.
I'm glad you got it running, but it sounds like: time for a new battery.
:snack: I thought I was going to have to come to Einstein's before church just to watch the show. :snack:
Don't mean to hijack this thread.........but... I have a couple of good AutoZone batteries out of the cars I have parted out. I keep them on tenders..$20 each...214-924-8237......back to regular programming............
Dang it, I just installed the one I bought at Auto Zone on the way back from the race. Sigh.
Anyway, about the race, I liked the course. The only issue was the single car requirement, but unless you either want to run the usual loop or have a short course, I guess you just have to live with it at Pennington. The course was a very nice change from the usual.
Darron65 came through with a co-drive in his NB. I was surprised by the amount of extra power over my 1.6. I was even more surprised by how much different the handling is, probably because it actually has enough power to break the rear wheels loose. I got used to it on the third run and I really felt comfortable on the 5th and 6th runs. Too bad I screwed the pooch by DNFing my first two runs.
What the heck was up with the heats!?!? Why not just do work one-drive two if you are going to do three heats? And where did that Subi come from in Tire? Wow!
Good event other than the funky three-heat setup.
Yea that was odd, and you could tell no effort was made to balance out the heats, there where what 6 cars in the last heat???
Come on Equipe Rapide you guys usually put on a great event what was the logic in todays "revised" format?
I liked the course, but I agree with jrj512 the lack of overlap sure made for some long heats, well except for the 3rd heat.
Fun course for Pennington (~45 seconds). 1 car at a time on course sucked. The free for all pick-the-heat-u-wanna-run sucked more.
I think the swede driving the Subi won Tire class today. I think the top 7 Tire class cars were all within 7/10 of a second of each other.
Kudos to trophy winners.
Quote of the day - "Surprisingly meaty!"
I agree with the course, great but one car at a time was not good. First heat, with the carts, lasted more that 3 hours. I think the third heat was over in less that 30 minutes. Again, not good.
But, all in all, it was the best autocross I attended today.
I liked the course, too. I think they should have either done 2 heats with a short break in between (like last time) or 3 same-sized heats. That last heat with 6 cars was a joke.
The 3 heats from today didn't work. Period. It was work one, run one and have one off from my understanding. This was to give people a break. It worked, everyone took off the last heat. :(
Expect the Mod cars. And an NSX and a Miata.
It would have worked better if it was work one and take half your runs in one heat and the rest of your runs in the other heat. Which is what it probably will be from now on, like it used to be. No off heat. We did it because some people have wanted to push for 3 heats and have a heat off. Unless you tell people which heat they HAVE to run and they actually run that heat then this is what happens. We have learned from this and will go on.
The problem with the short break is that it is always longer than intended to be.
Course was unique and fun. 1 car at a time wasn't to good, unfortunately it happens at times. We were out of there at a pretty good time though.
The 3 format will work if you do work 1/run 2, work 2/run 3, work 1/run3.
I was told that ER used to do it where you drove in two heats (two or three runs per heat, depending if you are running PAX) and worked in one heat. I think that is a pretty good layout, especially if you are one of the lucky ones who gets to drive in back-to-back heats.
