i used to have an old 200sx with a 305 in it .... tiny car big engine too much fun ... till i hit that light pole .... but i am a lot smarter now
i hear there is a kit for 3500 minus the engine/tranny/wiring out there
talking to yourself? :-)
appears so ... i am bored at work trying not to fall asleep
How 'bout one of these conversions for the Z.
Linkie
i have been seeing those about too.. the z would be perfect for it sincethe engine i have i basically crap at this time ... smoking under hard acceleration
i saw a guy the other day with what he said was a 400 in a 79 280
sounded mean that is for sure and toasted mine .. but it dont take much to beat mine the way it is running
i was considering buying the 327 my neigbor has for sale and throwing it in the z but i knew exactly what would happen ... i would run out of money and have no running car to get to work ... and riding a motorcycle in the rain gets old after a while
I started a project, but didn't quite finish it out yet...

OK... should be fixed now...
that is nice ... i miss my old turbo II :(
I wanted Danny's monster before I even got to see it in person. Wish I had the money. :(
i absolutely love silver w/red interior. I'd kill every one of you with no remorse for that color combo.
The v8 in a miata would be cool but there has to be a better transmission than a t5 or any other tremec series. I hate those transmissions, they are extremely notchy and just feel horrid.
I think it would be cool...but I couldnt see ADDING weight to my car, even if it means more power. Sure, I could put my 1450hp turbo'd Ls2 in my miata, but all that weight up front...not fun in the corners anymore. Straight line? LOTS of fun...but it would prob only weight 600lbs less than my Trans am in the end.
As for transmissions, I personally would put an auto in it...:) At least then I would not have to worry about all those gear changes wasting my time when the clutch pedal and not the gas pedal was on the floor!
Get a hayabusa engine and stick in there somhow.

This is a quick logic problem that can be solved without paper and pencil...
An all aluminum ls1 is right at 430lbs.
A ford 5.0l is roughly 450lbs.
If you say that a 5.0l is 250lbs more than a 1.8, then we have to assume that this means a 1.8 is roughly 200lbs.
There is NO way an ls1 weighs less than 200lbs!
Thats absurd.
Conclusion...
An ls1 weighs roughly 230lbs more than a 1.8, depending on accessories used.
Of course when I was talking about engine swaps, I was talking about MY ls2, WITH turbo hardware. My intercooler alone is 46lbs, and the turbo is over 60lbs.
