FYI, Discount Tire Direct is currently offering $100 off a set of tires or wheels. Shipping is free, but there's tax. Tire prices seem to be higher than edgeracing and tirerack, but after the discount you do come out ahead.

Dang... That is a good deal. That's $221 out the door for a set of Azenis 615s in 195-60-14, $290 for the 205-50-15. I think I'm going to be placing an order. Don't delay guys... offer only good through Saturday.
they do that offer every couple months or so
Thanks for sharing - I usually prefer to order through Tire Rack, but I couldn't pass up a new set of SPTs for the street for $368 shipped!
(Yes, it does suck buying 18" tires...)
Just ordered a set of 195-60-14 RT615's. Thanks, apex2apex.
Now, what is the best way to store them until they are needed?
good lookin out wish i had the $$ to buy wheels and tires right now but must devote to other aspects of the car ... gonna kill the next stray cat i catch campin on my back window
Wow! Good find Alan. I just bought a set of tires for $134. Good stuff.

Okie Dokie!
Store them in the livingroom next to the recliner. Place a round top on them and cover them with a tablecloth in Nascar print. ;)
I cannot think of a place in the house to store these that I would not mind smelling like a tire store.
Tell Ms. Squeeky you brought home a pair Nauga's?
Linkie
Thanks apex2apex!!! I ordered a new set of Falkens for my car today.
So which Falkens are you getting? 512, 912, etc...512's seem to have some mixed reviews/complaints.
For autocrossing, you want to go with the Azenis 615.
I have the Ziex 512 on my Acura and really like them. Since you're not racing, you might like these, too, if they have them in your size.
Just bought a set of AST for $186 out of the door! Thanks for the TCB tips!
picked up a set of nt-01's for $471.
I ordered another set of Falkens for the Civic - $121.24 out the door!!
If you get a set of wheel and tire, you will get $200 off the combo. With free mounting, balancing and shipping.
So you might end up paying around $200 for a extra set of wheels after you subtract the mounting and balancing cost at your local tire shop.
sure wish i had the $$ right now i saw some nice black 15" i want for the miata guess i will have to wait till the next time a deal like this comes along
You don't have to wait till the next time. Apparently most Falkens are now on back order thanks to this offer. So rather than pay now, have them shipped to me 3 weeks from now, then store them, then take them to be mounted and balanced...
I went to the local Discount store, put down a $50 deposit and got the same price as the online special. When they arrive at the store I'll have 'em put on then and pay the balance. TTL mounted, lifetime balance etc...was $188.40 for the new Ziex 912's. 195x60x14
hmmm may have to look into that ;) thanks
