DFW Miata Pool Tournament

Who: every pool player on here and friends
What: meet up shoot pool
Where: thinking plano area, titus is coming
Why: me and titus planned this over a year ago
and im bored
When: in a few weeks

jdmclassic, wheres the nearest nice/decent pool hall?
titus, when can you come?

im thinking friday saturday or sun evening, but thats just me.
it could be after a wed night meet, but were up real late those nights as it is.
this is events planning so offer ideas and suggestions!
maybe we can get gary to kick in a free intercooler setup for the winner, and it can be a sponsored event. then again, maybe its too late and i need to go to bed.

all the cool kids live in Plano, I love pool but not enough to spend 30.00 in gas to get to a place to play.

Wizards or Fox n' Hound are good places, both in Richardson.

If you are a true TCB then you'll do it during the day as the Fox n Hound has free pool during lunch.

Main Event, in Plano, has pool tabels.
I have only been once, a couple of years ago and I don't recall any prices.

titus, are you willing to go to wizards? no offense, id live to come out there, but some here might drink and smoke. im not sure if thats ok at your casa.

lets see how this one goes, i can also improve on things if need be.
i went to fox n hound in downtown ft worth and it was pretty nice!

how about a throw down of eastsiders vs west siders sometime? lol

I'd be more interested in good tables than good uniforms. If this is going to be a pool tourney, find somewhere with 9 ft. tables and good felt.

I'm OK with anywhere. If we play at my place, drinking is fine (BYOB) and smoking is allowed on the front and back porches.

Now your talking, what about speeds on 360 in Arlington?
I preffer the small bar sized tables but can play on regulation too.

I remember this man used to have a really nice pool table in his game room that he supposedly "never used."

Austin Avenue Grill/Plano

Austin Avenue Grill in Plano is pretty much dead on the weekends now that Plano passed the NO smoking ordinance. Brian opened up a new location in Richardson where smoking is still allowed - since they just opened up, I would imagine the tables are in excellent shape...and smoking is allowed. Not sure about the $$ or the crowds.

There's also The Billiard Den in Richardson. And the 7's - they have free pool some nights, but it is a total dive....and you don't have to smoke to smoke in there...

Wizards is nice - might need to plan ahead to get a table.
