I can't imagine anyone around here admitting to knowing someone dumb enough to put 18" rims on a Miata!
Except for the wheels... it's not a bad looking ride.
He shoots... He scores!!! :nutkick:Quote:

Eighteen inches of loser, if you ask me.
However, I do agree that it wouldn't be a bad car if you lost the wagon wheels and that ridiculous license plate. Heck, if I bought it, I'd drive it home with no plates whatsoever - I'd rather take the chance of a ticket for no plate than face the embarrassment of driving a car with that vanity plate any distance.
you could leave the plate and put smaller wheels, the plate could be a "decompensation" thing....
Looks pretty darn nice! 8)
Other than the wheels, I'd put a set of gold platted Dayton 100 spokes on it with white wall tires but that's just me! :P

You guys are a bit tough.....
7K for this car seems pretty good given the Flyin Miata turbo and all... its 5k just for the turbo system....
Chris
Raymond, I think there is a difference between your 18s and these. You got a great deal on a wonderful nearly stock car. You didn't put the 18s on it, so you can be blamed for the bad judgment (un-like our e-bay pal here). Furthermore, I am sure your 18 inch rims don't ride that bad being that you are running stock suspension. It is perfectly acceptable to sacrifice a little performance for the look you want, assuming you didn't buy the car primarily for its performance.Quote:

Now with all this said, you really need to try some 15s on there for a day Raymond!
Don't get me wrong...7K is a great deal.... If I had 7k and more room in my garage, I would probably go take a look at it. That doesn't mean that I would keep the plate or wheels though!Quote:

It's getting VERY hard to juggle work, marriage, and family.
Hell, if I had 7k, I'd sell my 92 B&T and the rims off of that car and put some nice Heliums on it.Quote:

Turn signals are still there... just look at the very corner of the TSI.
I think I'll bid one it? Anyone wanna '90 Turbo :?:
I won :!:
My wifes going to kill me :D
Forgiveness is easier to get than permission
Congrats!
Now you can sell those rims to some Honda ricer ;)

Hell, I'll just tell ya..... It was gonna go on top of my 78 Cad Hearse after I shaved it and painted it Corvette Red. But since nobody I know was willing to ride around in a certified coffin hauler with chrome rims and sidepipes....... I bought a Miata.
There's not a cop in the world who sill stop a hearse.......
first thing, turn boost down. second thing, sell wheels, third thing, buy some 15x7 ats comp lites if you can find them, 12lbs of joy.

Congrats TD! Don't worry, I don't think personalized plates sell with cars like normal ones do! :wink:Quote:

It also says "Short throw shifter"..... I have never heard of an automatic short throw!
Turbo will be turned down to 12psi, Wheels will be traded for 15" that I can put R Tires on.Quote:

It is a 5spd. The PO tells me it has the M-Package with a Torsen. Does that sound right?
I've already received e-mails offering to buy the car from me or to sell my bid:D
I will probably sell my '90 Turbo, but we will see how bad the wife gets with me having two
Bastard! Congradulations, I came very near to putting a bid in myself, but reason caught me (who needs six cars). I was thinking about punting my 91 BRG and 91 Lincoln VII to get this car. I want a ride!!!! When are you picking it up?
Chris
The '97 M was green, not black. Still a nice car regardless! :thumleft:Quote:

Yea love that Black & Tan! Is that an FMII kit on the car? Did you pick it up yet???Quote:

I pick it up Friday AM. I'm hoping to go to the Dyno Day Saturday, I've got to find someone to drive my other Miata there, so I can get both Dyno'd.
Yea, I know its not an M-Edition, but he said it's got the M-Package, not to be confused with the M-Edition. Does that sound right :?:Quote:

Yes FMII :reindeer: :reindeer: :reindeer: :reindeer: :santa:Quote:

Well it looks like I don't need to do the suspention work on my '90, since my '97 model already seems to have it all :D :D :D
No such thing as a "M" package, only M editions. It may have all the options like leather, but other than that?? No fender badges, logos on the headrest, tach, door sills, special paint and 15" wheels. Still a nice car though.Quote:

As for turning down the boost, if you do this you will need to retune the wastegate. If you don't bad things can happen. You may want to download the link tuning instructions from FM's web site. Oh makes sure you get all the link tuning software Datalog lab as that will cost you $100 for the program and $60 for the conecter. Find out what the Link chip date is, as you may want to get the most recent one. I would be happy to look at it next time ya'll meet up.
