Sorry to miss this one but my new front hubs are in and I will be wrenching this weekend. The groaning is making my teeth hurt. Steering wheel hub in too so I guess it will be a hubabalu.

Never did buy the POSIII tires this week as I had planned and now it's Friday, man this week flew by! :punchout:

Plus as an added bonus to my weekend I'm taking the wife to Tyler for the Tyler Quilt show where were are going to meet up with her mom and sisters! Best day Evar! ;)

I learned long ago when the wife is happy everyone is happy. Plus she tolerates and helps fund my stupid little car stuff. :drive: And she is actually quite the quilter!

PSSST They have a funnel cake for breakfast stand set up in downtown Grand Saline in case you get lost by accident.

We did! The new tires made a huge difference and the car now behaves more like we expected. The oversteer problem is gone. Miatamoto took first in STS and I took third. We were both in the top ten in PAX.

The course was short (no loop), but it was fun. Definitely a Miata course. Nice job, Dennis.

The car really came into its own this event on the new tires. We were very happy with the car and we're looking forward to Houston next week.

Hey, JRJ512. You were talking about weight reduction today, what about the seats? Isn't that legal in STS?

Yes, but not as much as it used to be since they now have a min weight for them. They are something to consider for next season, but I would put new light-weight wheels over seats. Plus, I have to consider drive-ability on the street.

I am going to modify the hitch this week in order to make it easier to remove at big events and I will probably grab a battery, too.

There is also weight to be saved in the exhaust, but that is down the road, too.

my stock seats weighed 33 lbs, and the replacements 25 per the rules

about $500 for 16 pounds

Wally Mart motorcycle battery for $35 or so loses about 11 pounds

Everybody should note that we were on our new cheater tires and Neal was on older RE01Rs. I'm really looking forward to some good competition this year!
