Galaxy Drive-In Meet&Cruise

Alright, you guys all know the deal. New date is Saturday April 11th. I hope weather doesn't let us down this time.

We'll meet up at Sonic in Arlington on SE Green Oaks. Head out for a nice drive across the country side on some nice twisty roads. A few miles before the end of the route we're gonna make a small stop at the Rockett Cafe&Club for some great food, drinks and relaxation, then head out for a movie.

I'll post up the movies that will be showing once it's announced on galaxy's website.

As I said before, if anyone wants to meet in Dallas to drive to Arlington, let me know and I'll make it happen.

- Meet at Sonic (A): 2:30 pm
- Roll out for cruise: 3:15 pm (SHARP, don't be late)
- Be at Rockett (B): 4:30 pm
- Roll out to Galaxy: 6:40 pm
- Arrive at Galaxy (C): 7pm (insures us good parking)
- Movie(s) starts after 8pm


Here is the map, I strongly encourage people to have a print out encase they get stuck at a light or something, I wouldn't like anyone to get lost.

-Please Tank up before going (there is a shell down the street from sonic)
-Movie is $6 for two shows per person
-Cash and Credit cards accepted at galaxy for entrance and snack bar.

-This isn't a cannonball, no pressure, drive at your own pace... we'll save a spot for you.
- once again I strongly encourage people to have print out of the map.
-Bring an appetite, Rockett has some good food.

The wife and I are planning to attend in her Toy.

What are the chances of the new fast + furious movie being up there? This may be an unpopular opinion but I think it's gonna be awesome.

It will be showing. I saw it and its not too bad. Much better than the previous 3.

I'll be leave it on Friday. If it does well, I'll set up for another date.

We haven't met but, the wife and I are planning on showing up from east Texas. Would love to meet ya'll. We all ready made arangements to have my parents in Bedford watch our 3 kids that night. If ya don't show up we're goin' any way dang it.:drive:

Thought it over. Friday won't work. This is still on unless its raining during the day. I'm doing the cruise no matter what.

Partly sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph becoming 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain less than 20 percent.




Saturday Night
Cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms possible in the evening...but more likely after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Local police are writing tickets to drivers that take Exit #255 from southbound I-45 and U-turn on the exit ramp back to the drive-in !!


If you are traveling from the north, instead take exit #258 in Palmer and continue south on the service road approximately 2 more miles to the drive-in entrance.

Remember, just because you bring a cooler doesn't mean you can't support their snack bar.

Gonna have to miss the cruise but should be able to meet up at Rockett and go to Galaxy from there.

Yep and the first movie was even good too, "Fast and the Furious" the second one "Second House on the Left" was hilariously bad.

That you guys for joining in. Yea that second movie was just awful in every possible way.

What a great Saturday! Perfectly planned and paced. It was great to meet some of the group and we really need to do it again.

Ok here's the other one. Juano Tejano thought the camera was aimed a little low so he squatted a bit.

However, with his eyes closed, I think he was trying to achieve Nirvana through trancendental meditation.

Yep yep, It's hard to tell but I was actually starting to fly just a little bit out of sheer concentration. The smirk is just because I of how funny I think I am.
