This is the FSAE weekend as well... so be prepared to handle 20 cars with 600 drivers!
So glad I'm working in the trailer, although reading the little numbers on those cars is a huge PITA.
The UTA event is Saturday at UTA. Some will likely show up Sunday at ER.

I think i'll go to this event. I haven't done an event since BMWCCA at TMS.
That might be the shortest course I have ever seen.
Here's my best run. It was a Rapide Pax run.

I won ST-class w/ a 36.9, but the 2nd place guy banged out a 36.6 during Rapide Pax and I couldn't manage faster than a 36.7 (video run).

I'm not sure if the cone moved after I quit stepping on it
ETA: I think this is the definition of "not backsiding" the cone :)
Thanks Dennis, I really liked the ones of the back of the car in the 180. I was able to see what the inside tires are doing.
I actually liked the course because the two 180's helped teach me some patience and the 15 slalom cones helped me work on my slalom. I really used the day as a practice event.
Commenting on an event you were not at and a course you did not drive::Rant::
The course was as long as possible without a loop, or being too tight or 1 car on course. I guess the the course designer did not want to do a loop because of the FSAE cars (a lot of novices) and the number of cars +100.
That being said the course was not my cup of tea just because I don't like slaloms and I did badly, but their was nothing wrong with the course. (this was not my course design)
When are you going to design us a course for Peen CosmosMpower? It's hard to do one that we haven't done before, one that is not 1 car on course or a big overlap, and longer then 40sec.
Relax, all I said is that it was short which it was. I'm sure they had a good reason to make it that way but 30 seconds for fast cars is not a long course by any standards at any venue. Standing around in the heat all day with 100+ cars for 3 minutes of seat time just doesn't appeal to me. But if you don't have a cap at your events then stuff like this happens.
Eh...

"He recently got in trouble for saying that an autocross event at a certain location was dumb. He was right, but one of the moderators took it personally. When called on the carpet by our moderator, he defended himself. He was told he had to be more sensitive to the feelings of others that stood in the heat all day. He explained that THAT was what was wrong with our organization: everybody is too sensitive. And he just likes to get people riled up for no reason...thanks for reading"

Don't put up a link and then a quote that misquotes me.
Perhaps if you had prefaced your comments by saying, "Unless the course suits me, I'd rather chase a little white ball around a pasture, but here's what I think of the course based on second hand information..."
Why in fact I do...just not at venues with non ideal amounts of FSAE cars and 3 minutes of seat time for 8 hours of waiting.
I actually raced a few weeks ago, 8 runs with mid 80's to 100 second lap times with *GASP* a few sections that got out of 2nd gear. Where were you at this one big boy?

Ok, now that eThug has had his playtime, let's get back on the subject...
Am I reading the results correctly when I see that Brude/Whitney a ran a Cayman? Are they preparing/campaigning this car, or were they just fooling around with it at this one event? I've been waiting for some national-class drivers to really work on a Cayman.
I believe the Cayman is prep for National level. I think it has AST shocks and light wheels.
Yeah, Porsche parts are so much cheaper... :D
Ahhhh... that's what I was hoping for, a Cayman prepped to "nationals trophy fast" specs.
And that's why I've been waiting for a well-prepped, well-driven Cayman to arrive on the scene. I'm curious to see if the Cayman is a real competitor to the all-mighty S2000CR in AS. Now I'm going to have to come out and play, if only to watch that battle!
Ok, I thought based on this he was running ASTs.

Dude, if you'd come out to a track day with the rest of us fast guys, you might see me. Then again, maybe not... ::Bleh::
Sorry, I've looked for any opportunity to come out and play at little-old-ladies-driving-school... ah,er,um... "autocross", but my calendar keeps preventing me. And you know how busy the "lederhosen crowd" gets in September and October, so it doesn't look like it's going to get much better.
* Just teasing about the "autocross" comments... I really do love it, but couldn't resist...
