Solo RX-7

SCCA Event #7 - TMS Road Course, 9/27/2009

I know it's kind of early, but I want to emphasize to everyone the importance of using online registration for this event. There will be no walkups allowed, so if you don't online reg you won't be able to compete. Team Banana Boat, are you listening? :D If you have trouble with the online reg process (perhaps your server is run by squirrel power) please let me know AHEAD OF TIME and I'll get you fixed up.

Also - if you haven't met your 3 event minimum to do this event there are still 2 more local events prior to the road course to help you fulfill the requirement. NTAXS and ER both have events before Sep 27. See http://www.dfwautocross.com for the complete local schedule. We'll accept out of town events toward your three event total, provided they aren't swampbuggy races put on by your cousin Elmer from Mississippi.

Or maybe you find the registration site is infested with squirrels, rats, mice and demons.... It's really about time to call an exterminator on that thing before the vermin begin to eat away at our foundation.... Hell they've already killed Patience and hung her picked clean bones from the rafters.

Trade Days USA is a combination arts festival, arts and crafts show, flea market and more, all rolled up into one. Vendors will be selling everything imaginable in the campgrounds outside of Turn 3 across from the speedway's Dirt Track. Admission is free, parking is $5. I heard it straight from Solo RX7 that there will be funnel cakes this year! He is setting up a fryer in the trunk of a white E36 BMW 328, so stop by. Tell them Ken sent you.

Just daily drive them this week. That will clean off the mold release.

I heard that both Plano and McKinney Police Departments let you warm up your tires in their parking lots, so maybe I'll give that a shot.

Noob Question here: Can anyone give more info about what the TMS "road course" will be like, in relation to all the other autoX events? Is this an autoX on the infield, or is this more of a time-trial event? How will the driving differ? Thanks!

The road course event is similar to other autocrosses, except the road course layout doesn't leave as much lattitude for course designers to do a lot of variation in the course year to year.

You'll still do four runs, and only one at a time just like a regular event.

The mystique of the road course always draws a good crowd, so you'll have a lot more and varied competition as well as a bunch of seasoned drivers from out of town. It really is a great time - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Again - make sure you register online by this Friday. We WILL NOT BE accepting walk ups.

No wear in needed. Just drive to the event on them and run.

They've been very slippery in the past for me new. Once they've been through an even't they are much stickier.
