Fantastic... you are in for a treat!
Congratulations!
I'll echo Black Roadster's comment about coming home to you child's (children's) warm welcome. Every night when I tuck my 11 year old daughter in her bed, she'll ask me "Daddy, is tomorrow going to be a late night for you at the office?" Makes me sad (because I know I'm spending too much time away from home) and very happy at the same time, as I know she just wants to spend time with her old dad! :D
I learned one thing from that stupid Jim Carey movie called "The Yes Man"... I try to say "yes" to my kids as often as I can.
Daddy, will you read me a story?
Yes.
Daddy, can we play a game of checkers?
Yes.
Daddy, can we go for a bike ride?
Yes.
I get so wrapped up in my life -- work, chores around the house, "play-time" like racing or watching college football, etc. -- that I can easily fall into the "trap" of not giving my kids the attention they deserve. So if they ask me for my time, I do my very best to say "yes", even if it seems inconvenient to me at the time. Too soon they'll have grown up and be gone...
Again, congratulations!
