Is anyone going or instructing this event? It seems to be only 5 spots available for Advanced drivers. I will be there. It will be my last for a while as we are projected to have our little girl at the end of November. I will take about 6 months off from the track. Hope to see a few of MME there!!:drive:

I was looking at this yesterday. We'll just be getting back from vacation that weekend. Plus, I don't think Apex would put me in the advanced group anyway. Have fun.
Carcar is going to be there along with a couple of his coworkers. I was going to sign up for it but chose Harris Hill the following weekend instead. I may come out to watch though.
If you are running in the advanced group with other clubs it should not be a problem.Quote:

CRAP! I thought that it was already too late for that one! I am up for that one. I'm registering. I go 24/7 on call this Friday night for a week, drive to Austin Tuesday night for a state hearing on licensure Wednesday morning, drive back to Tyler Wednesday night to pick call back up and get our office ready for open house Thurseday afternoon, and Friday night when I go off call I could drive back to Austin for Harris Hill. Tires should be nice and warm for max grip by then. I think I will have earned a weekend of speed. May need a roomy...
Well so far, NC Eunos, BenRomans, Jeffman, and I am signed up. Dunno sleeping arrangements of others and I haven't booked a room yet.

Awesome event yesterday!
OK, so the Intermediate group got black flagged a couple of times (A Miata lost a wheel on track - just say no to plastic hubcentric rings), but overall it was a great day. I forgot just how much fun the 1.3 can be. It's quite a roller coaster ride, with lots of elevation changes!
Good to see all the usual suspects out there yesterday. Alan, good luck with the baby - hope everything goes well!

Couldn't have asked for a better time and weather!
I learned a lot in the advanced group. 4 of us students took turns and logged data into the performance boxes, and Keith took the time to analysis the data with us.
I went from being very timid going up the hill and into the towel bowl, to almost going full throttle. Also going down the Ss much better and late apexing the left turn down the bottle of the hill hairpin. Still around 2.5 secs behind Keith in his spec miata. But I am quite happy with my progress.

A 1:10 is a great time, Alan. Way to go. The best I did the day I ran the 1.3 in the STI was a 1:11.8. I can't wait to run the 1.3 in the Miata.Quote:

That was the beginning. I ended up with only two wheels off. I never got off the throttle. I really need to buy that picture. People don't believe me when I tell them I have drifted the Miata....:rolleyes
