I'll follow you down :)
I've never run an ER event. 4 runs only? What time will it end? Can I take my daughter as a passenger?
http://www.autocross.com/er/2010challengecuprules.pdf
O. For the purpose of driver development, passengers will be allowed during competition runs. Passengers may ride with
whomever they want, as many times as they want, at the discretion of the driver. But they must not delay the event.
Any non-competitor over the age of 18 can be a passenger and must comply with Article 3, Section C. This rule can
be waived at the discretion of the Board of Directors at any time, if deemed necessary.
C. Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by the form required by the club's insurance carrier for each
event. This document must be presented personally to registration by the parent or guardian signing the form. In
addition, the entrant must be sponsored by an Equipe Rapide member, who shall present the minor at registration.
I plan to be there. Driving a German Z car now, first time with it on the star specs.
Is it register on site?
Is there any entry cap? I have only run 1 ER event before.
We are eager and excited to be hosting the Equipe Rapide Challenge Cup #4 this Sunday at Pennington Field. It has been a long month and a half off for the club and we are going to make up for it with two events in July.
The Event on Sunday should prove to be an interesting time for drivers and spectators alike. The annual FSAE challenge is taking place at UTA on Saturday which is hosted by Equipe Rapide and then most of the FSAE teams will be in attendance at the ER CC#4 on Sunday. I love it when the FSAE cars come out. They have some of the highest levels of engineering in motorsports and the cars are fun to look at, watch, and listen to. The event master and course designer is going to be national champion Gary Kramer.
Equipe Rapide has a Novice Chief position which is staffed by David Whitener. He will be conducting a novice walk through on the course and giving tips on how to follow the course and set up for the corners. He is also in charge of arranging ride alongs. Equipe Rapide allows anyone qualifued to be a competitor to ride as many times with someone else as they like. So a novice can arrange through David to ride along with a more experienced competitor or the novice can arrange to have someone ride with them.
We do have rules for minors which are posted on our website www.autocross.com/er .
I hope to see you all out there on Sunday. I will be driving a Mustang in CP class and rumors are that national champion Kurt Janish will be in attendance with his CP Firebird to kick my butt.
I will be at Einsteins at 7 AM.
Me too!
I'm out. Have the 4 year old as the wife is on a sorority reunion trip.
Damn sorority girls! So high maintenance.

Stillwater, Oklahoma. You likely won't enjoy the trip.
How did the event go ? I would have like to have gone and watched or entered my Na for my first auto-x , But my Na and job had different plans for me.
How about some pics ?
Kind of short course, but a fun day.
It was hot but fun. Lots of the cars from UTA were running which probably made it longer than usual. I really enjoyed my work assignment for heat 3 as announcer, don't know if I was any good but I would definately do it again in the nice A/C.
I thought your announcing was pretty good! Much better than whoever that Heat 2 JACKASS announcer was! That guy liked to stir up trouble!
Thanks everyone for coming out. The course was fun. It was a little more suited to a F-Mod car than a bone stock Mustang. That is the beauty of being an event master. You can make the course however you want (within reason). I was able to hold full throttle from the SW corner to the NE corner so there was a little speed out there as well. It is too bad my cantilever tires gave up on me. I guess slicks designed for a 2000 pound formula car can't be expected to work well on a 3500 pound stock Mustang.
Our next event will be on the 25th which is a short two weeks away. Hope to see you all there.
Thanks,
Great Event Andy, thanks for all you do.
"You're just bitter about your manual steering."
I'm bitter about many things. Actually I think I can get used to the manual steering rack, it'll just take some time.
I was so tired of the manual steering on the Datsun. That was one major reason I sold it. Even with the 17" steering wheel it was a workout.
I had fun for my first time out, hopefully next time I might get a decent run in..
You really were the "cone killer" yesterday! I think your cone count was actually higher, but your car actually ATE the cones, so no evidence was available to be counted! :) You're getting mighty fast there. I thought the NC was supposed to intimidate all you NB guys into submission??
It was my first ER event. Had a blast!!!
Thanks all!
Here's some coverage from Dallas Morning News:

guess we need to point out to them that it is not a race.... or a rally.....
OK, How many of us are there in Krum?
Andy Franco already gave the reporter a lesson in jargon.
Anyone take any photos?
Of Ken O, or the boys?
