I just installed one of these on a customer car and thought it looked good enough to pass on.
We have a supply of red and black powder coated valve cover for the following years.

01-05 (except Mazdaspeed)

From a business stand point, we went with the two most popular colors. Most people are fine with an uncut valve cover. There is already a great deal of prep work to powder coat these and keep the price reasonable.

I have a few bare covers available. The labor involved in modifying one would affect the price unless you wished to do the work.
Isn't there another car out there with a valve cover that fits our car that doesn't have the cast cover on it?? I've seen it at a Wed. night GTG can't remember what the guy told me it came off of. It was another Mazda.
If it's the guy I'm thinking (I need to call him about my intercooler pipes still too), I want to say it was from a 1.6l Capri. Almost positive actually. His name is Josh...has the flat black vinyl wrapped NA.Quote:

Semi-interesting side note: When I worked at a shop in NJ, back when I was still a Z32 guy, a guy came into the shop with a modded turbo Capri. He let me drive it like it was my own car, and it was rather quick. At the time I didn't have any turbo Miata experience, so I didn't realize it's practically the same motor.
Other side question: you ever put in your intercooler? I'd still like to see how it was recommended to move the AC stuff, if you don't mind.
Either that or keep an eye out on club roadster for a GTX valve cover as that is what they are from as well. Just make sure it's the 1.6 or 1.8 as both motors were in that car.
I'm fine with some extra costs involved, I just don't want to get a freshly coated valve cover and then hack it up. Mine is already cut, so if you want to tell me what I need to do to prep it, I might just pull mine off and do that.Quote:

The hardest part was the drier bending. Trying to figure out how much it needed to bend to clear the I/C tubing coming from the intercooler into the intake manifold was the hardest part. Was afraid I was going to screw up the A/C hardlines in the process but they bent pretty good.Quote:
