What are your favorite date/anniversary/special occasion type restaurants in the DFW
Ruth's Chris (and only really because I have yet to go to a real Texas steakhouse since I moved here :( - Ruth's Chris is damn good though, chain steakhouse or not) ...I actually have a $200 gift card I got from work last year that I should use soon..
Happy special occasion!
I think terrilis is open again in lower greenville. I proposed to my wife there. It twas our place before it burned down. Nice atmosphere, live jazz, and damn good food. It can get prettyloud at times though.
Waffle House
Olive Garden.
My personal favorite is 560 in Reunion Tower. The food is incredible, the decor modern, service impeccable and the view is unrivaled. Great wine list too.
You can't go wrong with the Old Warsaw food-wise and for ambiance, but it is sorta stuffy attitude-wise.
For something upscale but a little different, I like Dish in Oak Lawn and I especially like Tei An in One Arts Plaza. Incredilble soba-based menu and high-quality sushi, classy ambiance and top-notch servers.
All would be great date/anniversary spots, IMHO.
Golden Corral FTW.
LOL I knew I asked the wrong crowd...
Thanks for the suggestions. Tei An is good, been a while since I've been there. Might check out 560. Last time I went it was still the old restaurant before Wolfgang bought it and it was not impressive.
Anyone tried Capital Grill lately? Thinking that or maybe Jaspers in shops of Legacy.
I'm kinda "meh" on Capital Grill, but that was mainly due to weak service on two visits.
560 is a totally different animal than it used to be, doesn't even look the same.
+1 on five sixty. Great view, food, ambiance...but get ready to drop some cash though.
I personally like Houston's (the one at Preston and NW Hwy) as they have a good menu and I've yet to be disappointed by anything we have ordered. I think they changed names, but it is still the same place and menu.
Nicola's and Cafe Istanbul at shops of legacy are good, Ziziki's on preston should be good too, I've had good experiences at other locations of theirs.
Classic Cafe, Roenoke (sp)
In the north part...
Seasons 52 (excellent fruity martinis for the spousal unit)
Jasper's
III Forks
Ricks Chophouse in McKinney
Roy's
There's a Seasons 52 around here!?!
Yeah, the one in Orlando is the only one I've been to. A few times. Great place.
Now I have two date nights I need to plan. Thanks!
The one here is/was (when I went at least) really good. The service was great too.
Bolla at the Stonleigh hotel in uptown
560, make sure you get the chocolate souffle
Local in Deep Ellum is awesome
Of course I'd say York Street, but it's no longer open :(
Wasn't too happy with Abacus last time I went there
I also like Hattie's in Bishop Arts
If you want to make a drive out of it Reatta in Ft. Worth
One more, Salum. Haven't been there yet, but hear great things.
+1 on Salum. Forgot about that one.
Another I just remembered is Fearings at the Ritz. The GM of the hotel is a parent of one of my former students, so I can probably arrange for you to get a little VIP treatment.
Al Biernat's.
