Lone Star BMW AutoX 2012 Has Begun!

Lone Star Chapter BMW Autocross #1 - March 4th, 2012 Mineral Wells Airpark

Registration is now open for the 2012 LSC BMWCCA AX #1 Sunday, March 4th, 2012.

Even if you've never autocrossed before, come on out at give it a try. Instructors are provided for novices, and people wanting to try the sport.

More information can be found on the LSC BMWCCA website http://www.lscbmwcca.org/autocross-schedule.html, and if you want to drive in the event you must register. Cost is $25 for BMWCCA members, but non-members can register for $35 which allows you to try it out one time.

Registration for 2012 events will be 100% online. We will not accept payment on site! Online registration is available until 9PM the Thursday before each event.

Tech Inspection:

All participant vehicles must pass Tech Inspection on site.
Tech Inspection begins at 8am and will close at 9am.

Mandatory Driver's meeting at 9am.

First car will start around 9:30am.

We will have 5 runs in the morning heat, and 5 runs in the afternoon heat. 10 total runs per driver!

Rides in instructor vehicles are free. A helmet must be worn. There are a limited number of loaner helmets available for those that do not own their own helmet. (Helmets must be rated M-2005 or SA-2005 or newer)

If LSC BMW were in the European Union, economically we'd be below Greece.

I finally joined the LSC BMW group this year and signed up for this one. I hope to make them all this year! This is one of my favorite crowds to go autox'ing with! See you all out there!

I'm gonna run my NC in Y again this season. Maybe Slates will move up too and let the NA's and NB's play among yourselves. :)

I agree. It does not bother me if you and/or Mike want to run in X. The rules say you belong there. As they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Not that you're heavy or anything. ;)

I don't think anyone is really spending all that much time "worrying" about your "little 'ol ($$ in upgrades) CS car," just suggesting that you might want to come play in Y. I think the Hoosiers are a terrific idea!

Run wherever you like. I am certainly not suggesting that you shouldn't run in X. As JJ said, it is the correct class for the car, but an experienced driver in a well-prepped car (like you) might enjoy the challenge. Seriously, I wasn't trying to push you into Y. :)

Rat Finkel had it right, you guys are way too serious. Y will work out fine if the A/B crowd wants to kick me out. :-) This weekend I am working on my MW PRO set-up so I can try and hang with the General.

Seriously? Just run in the class your car belongs in. Unless you don't happen to own that magnetic letter, of course...

No magnetics required in BMW. Never mind! Forget I said anything. I'm running in X. Silicontek and I will just have to have our little grudge match in different classes!

Just run that unobtainium X5 in X-class.... though I'd love to see what you do with purple crack on all 4 corners....

I don't know what you all are talking about! I don't have a grudge with anyone...well at least not with Mike, now that I think about it. ;)

Lol! After all the hell-raising about NC's and classing - last fall and recently - several people have made the good point to me that there will be more NC's entering the autocross world as they continue to get cheaper and it will only confuse the issue if the classing is disputed. I'm going with the majority and running in the "proper" class this season. Others may do as they choose, obviously.

Apologies to SLATES for the flip-flopping and heckling. I will try to bring you some grapes and pie, or at least a funnel cake.

Nice driving in the X class today, guys. Got my ass handed to me today. Toyos really have a different feel that I haven't figured out yet, but Brad and DavidSS sure seem to have their setups figured out!

Great course, JJ. I'd like to see a variation of that one again. I don't remember the last 90 sec course I've run.

Yep, I had a good time, too. The Toyos are very different than the 'Kooks, but still very effective on my NA.

It was a fun day. I thought Brad had me at the end but I squeaked it out by .04. Great course JJ!

Big congrats to Russ on FTD! Pretty soon you'll be setting FTD at every event you go to but the first time one is pretty memorable.

And congrats as well to Brad! That was some epic driving today! STR competitors at the tour and pro are going to be in for a surprise!
