Finished up the intake. Cost about $37 for everything. It makes a real nice growl now. what you guys think?

A nice growl is worth 10 hp easy.
Do you know the inside diameter of 90 deg hose you used? I think it's 2.75" on both ends right? I've been meaning to do this on my car as well...
Allow me to demonstrate my ignorance: I don't know? I didn't realize the MAF would be removed with MS...
MS uses a MAP sensor, not the MAF. On an NB I honestly don't know if the MAF stays in place, but it makes no sense that it would. Maybe if you're wiring the MS in parallel? But then that sort of defeats the purpose of using an MS if you ask me.
Kind of take that back: The MAF delete kit is optional. But still, that's a large selling point for getting an MS anyway (even more so for an earlier car).
I guess I'll know soon enough. Reverant should be building my MS any day now...
You might want to get on that. I think you need to jumper it certain ways if you're using the MAF or not (according to a very quick glance at the MSPNP first start directions for a 1999, no clue on an NB non-PNP unit). I know you need to pick up an IAT sensor at the very least as well if deleting the MAF, so might be in your best interest to get that all squared away sooner than later, just so you're not waiting around for more things to get mailed to you.
BUUUUT...I'm not an MS guy [yet] so I would confirm/deny all that I just said with someone that is.
Way ahead of you there. I've got the IAT sensor, data cable, tuner studio, and an Innovate MTX-L sitting at the house...
Ah, so then most likely you will be removing the MAF. In which case, my original statement stands: get whatever size coupler end you need for whatever cone filter you get (or size pipe you will be using). The throttle body takes a 2.5" coupler.
Great, thanks for the help Rob. I've got a lot to learn before I go ripping my only car's brain out. Should be a good time.
I'm in the same boat. Only more of a brain transplant: going from the LINK to an MS. Either punt and get all new wire harness, or reverse what was needed for the LINK and then start over with the MS? Well, I have other cars. So I guess it's a different boat. ha
I now relinquish control of your thread Kevin. Thanks for letting me borrow it ;)
What is the setup you used to plug in the air temp sensor? The hose is 2.75" diameter!?
2.5-2.75, the TB is 2.5 and the maf is 2.75.
as for the temp sensor. its the one in the elbow, punch a hole the size of the factory rubber grommet and stuck it in there, fit perfect. not sure if most proper way to do it, but it runs fine and not throwing any codes.
What year id your car??
Since this thread is a year and a half old I have no idea if these people are still active. I can tell from the picture it is a 99-00 though.
Do you have to extend wire of MAF?
Looks great. What year is your Miata??
I'll try this time Majik. The OP's car is a 1999. Majik and I can tell because of the Sapphire Blue Mica paint and the strut tower brace. This tells us the car is a 10th Anniversary Edition, also known as a 10AE. I also looked at the OP's profile.
