Anyone interested in going as a "club" to meet and greet the NC model?

I'd be interested in that.
It will be in Dallas on April 18th, a Monday. Wonder what the hours will be.
Yes Please! 8)
Looks like there might be some interest. I will try to find out the location tomorrow and post with some ideas :D
ARRRRGH - I'm out on business...
On the plus side, I'll be fishing on a nice boat on the ocean. ;)
Gotta love team building events.
RJ
I'd be interested as well!
Chuck
Sure, why the hell not!
Cough! Cough!... I feel a spring cold coming on, boss. I think it'll hit me hard on April 18th...
I'll be there if at all possible. I'd really like to see the new Miata up close and personal!
I promised myself I wouldn't express any opinion on the NC until I saw it in person. This sounds like a look but don't touch event, but that's okay.
Actually it sounds a lot like my dating, lately...
I'm off on Mondays. I'm in like Flynn.
Name the time and place. 8)
I suppose it will be at one of the many fire stations in the area....otherwise, I'd like to see it at MSR.....
I have volunteered to.......do........something :)
Brian Wannan will likely be the Mazda North American POC on this. He made an announcement at last night's LSMC meeting. I would expect a good turnout from LSMC for this.
There will be some sort of charity event at a TBD fire station. I'm hoping for a mid cities location but it will probably be in Dallas.

So you can look but you can't touch? :(Quote:
The back of the truck will be cut out and surrounded by see-thru glass so that the Miata is being displayed at all times along it's journey.
I'm still game!
It would be cool if we could get a big MME group together and go see the car, which may be a bit tough since it is happening on a weekday.
Anyone know when the NC should be hitting dealer lots, still want to drive one before I give them a deposit  ??
I will be back in town and should be able to attend...
As explained by Brian, they will remove the car at the scheduled stops. Not sure if it can be driven by the public, but I would assume that you might be able to get "close". The car may be in Moab, UT at the May event for an extended time.Quote:

Count me in... Yes, I'll be sick that day. Hmmm... Drive the 94, or the 'NEW' 93 LE (with a bit of history on the pointy board).

Any new news on this deal?
Thanks,
Not that I can find. Seems that Brian Wannan is keeping it a secret.......
We have an LE yahoogroups going. Tell us more about your LE.Quote:

Hello Craig & Bill:
Hopefully you're getting excited about the Hot Streak Tour and the new Miata MX-5 coming to Dallas. We can't wait to bring the hottest car around to Dallas!
Per my previous email, I wanted to make sure you knew the final dates and times we will be in the Dallas area so you and the other Miata Club members can mark your calendars:
Sunday, April 17th: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Monday, April 18th: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Hill & Knowlton, Mazda’s PR firm, is handling all the details. We will have exact locations shortly and will let you know. Right now it looks like either Texas Stadium and/or somewhere in Addison is where they plan to unload the car. As soon as I hear, I’ll get right back to you.
In the mean time Craig, I’ll appreciate if you can forward this information to all Club members so that they can put something in their calendars. Thanks very much.
Regards,
Brian Wannan

93 LE w/ Ground Control coilovers, AGX's, Willwood brakes, 17" Racing Hart wheels, exhaust, engine bay is brushed and polished, 38K miles, body and interior are 'Perfect'. Oh....and it's got 250+ rwhp. It should be delivered to me on the 17th. Dad wants to make the switch 'back' to street rods. He needs V8 power and rumble. He's losing his mind in his old age. I guess I don't mind being on the receiving end though.
Speaking of losing your mind. What's that have to do with the NC coming to Dallas on the 18th?Quote:

True, but he should have quoted the question so that certain folks could keep up easier...Quote:

Hi All:
Here is the detailed information we have all been waiting on for the 2006 Mazda MX-5 Hot Streak Tour. I encourage you al to try to get out to one of the locations to see the all new 2006 MX-5 Miata. It’s a dream boat!!!
Welcome and thanks for being a part of the hottest national program this country has seen!
In honor of the arrival of the 2006 MX-5 Miata, Mazda has loaded the new MX-5 on top of a fire truck and is burning up the highway across the country, with a stop in DALLAS, TX. In each city we are teaming up with a local fire department to raise funds for fire safety education efforts, providing a great community connection at each stop and an added hook to generate media coverage for the new MX-5.
While the MX-5 is in the DALLAS metropolitan area it will be making stops to not only give you a chance to see the car up close and personal, but also create a heat wave of excitement as it tours high-traffic consumer areas. This is a great opportunity for local clubs to see and sit in the new MX-5 Miata and simultaneously generate awareness and funds for our local fire department partner, the Dallas Texas Fire Station, #27. We hope you will come out to see the new MX-5 at various destination points across the metropolitan area, caravanning along the way for some added fun.
Below is the schedule for the Dallas “stop,” including a description of what will take place at each stop. We look forward to seeing you!
DAY ONE
Load-In Location – Sunday, April 17th @ 12:00 PM:
Minyard Foodstore
2130 E. Ledbetter Drive; (214) 374-3237
We invite you to come and watch the unveiling of the MX-5 as it is removed from its trailer and fork lifted up on to the fire truck.
From this point we hope you will join the caravan as it travels into the city, heading for destinations like the Dallas Zoo and other highly populated areas reaching thousands of Dallas residents along the way
DAY TWO
Load-In Location – Monday, April 17th @ 6:00 AM:
Minyard Foodstore
2130 E. Ledbetter Drive; (214) 374-3237
If you were unable to attend Sunday’s unveiling, we invite you to come and watch Monday’s unveiling of the MX-5 as it is removed from its trailer and fork lifted up on to the fire truck.
- From this point we hope you will join the caravan as it travels into the city, reaching areas such as the West End Marketplace and the Uptown shopping strip and then out to our fire station partner.
Fire Station Location – Monday, April 18th @ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM:
Dallas Fire Station, #27
4801 Douglas Ave.; (214) 670-7951
MAIN EVENT: A must-see! Here is where you can see the MX-5 up close and personal. The car will be lowered from the fire truck and removed from its clear case and set on the street for you and other Miata fans to sit in and touch the hot new MX-5.
The media will be invited to attend this event, and our partners at the Dallas Fire Department will talk about the importance of fire safety education efforts and thank Mazda for raising awareness and funds for this effort.
After the VIP viewing of the MX-5, the truck will be making its way throughout the greater Dallas area visiting Local TV Stations, offering weatherman and automotive buffs at the media to come out to see firsthand the new MX-5. Given the limited parking and street availability at these stations, we will only be bringing the truck to these media opportunities.
Load-Out Location – Monday, April 18th @ 4:00 PM:
Minyard Foodstore
2130 E. Ledbetter Drive; (214) 374-3237
